He held and used a revolver in that episode with the Master and the Time lords returning

thats because the time lords wanted to end existence and turn into pure energy. he wasn't going to take the gun till he knew about the time lords. he doesn't do guns

The doctor would never use a gun to save his life.. only the lives of others.

Doctor Who never carries a weapon.

He doesn't necessarily carry one, but he has used one before. Remember the episode where they're fighting a war between the fish people and the clones? Doctor's Daughter I think it was called. Anyway, he picks up a revolver and threatens to shoot one guy. Plus, I think it's just the principle of a human doctor whooves would just be Doctor Who, regardless if a weapon is being carried or not.

Yes he did that in that episode and also in that one where the Master brought the time lords from the time lock. He had a revolver.
