Well, maybe it's because usually there are no opinions from pony haters, just blatant trolling? And besides, why pony reaction pic is irrelevant when other kinds of pics with the same semantic load are OK?

When did i imply that i used haters in a general tontext? I was clearly talking about neutral people that have their own opinion.

The problem is that a pony reaction pic does not fit most of the time because they do not show of a certain cartoon emotion that fits for a certain reaction. Take this picture i posted fr example. How is this fitting? I do not see the funny part about it. Spiderman is funny because of his asshole look and additude and spongebob is funny because of it extremely dumb facial reactions. Ponies on the other hand do not get thumbed up for the sake of it being fun but for the sake of pony fandom.

Granted if a pony post is funny then i will thumb it up but its just the same with stoner comics and skyrim jokes. I hate arrow to the knee doesn't mean i hate skyrim in general. I dislike stoner comics doesn't mean i don't smoke weed.

There is a very small amount of neutrals in the pony threads. You can practically count them on your fingers. Most part are haters or trolls.

If you don't see the funny part about some reaction pic - it doesn't mean it's not funny. It's just mean you don't see it. It's very handicapped thing, you know: spiderman fans can use spiderman pics, sponge bob fans can use sponge bob pics, whatever-else-fans can use whatever-else-pics - and usually nobody thumb them down. But if that's a pony pic - the avalanche of red thumbs is on the way. Very fair, bro, very fair... I don't think sponge bob rection pics are funny, for example, I think they're ugly as hell. But I don't thumb down the comment only because of my position against its reaction pic.

I'm not saying all pony posts aren't funny nor am i trying to force my opinion down someone's throat but the fact that the majority funnyjunk's humor is based on dark, ironic and stupid humor. Things like "its funny because hes retarded" or sexist and racist jokes or just harsh in your face jokes. And lets face it pony pictures do not represent dark, ironic, stupid humor. Spongebob and spiderman do because spiderman is represented as an asshole and spongebob is represented as a retard where as ponies are not represented in these things making them extremely unfitting and that creates kind off a "you're trying to hard to make it funny" feeling. And i'm not saying that kind of humor is better but it could be a reason why people thumb it down because if its not funny its seen as spam.

Pony posts should be used for different humor. Not the kind of internet humor we are used to because that just does not fit. The only way i can see the comedic value of ponies in humor is the fact that is pisses off haters in a "love and tolerate" way.

I understand what you're trying to say. But I can't agree with you. It's still just a personal view of each user. Sometimes for people the image doesn't fit to reaction only because they didn't watch the show. Since spiderman or sponge-bob are much more famous - this could be the reason.

Ironic or stupid humour connects to MLP without problems, you just need to pick a picture properly. Dark humor is more complicated, but there is a ton of fanart for this, like the picture in this post.

Of course ponies is a bit different from spiderman or sponge-bob, but it doesn't mean it can't be used for humour. Fitting conditions are not enough to thumb everything down.

And after all, I still think most of the thumbs down are happening not because of "fitting" or something like that - just because people hate MLP and hate everybody who like it. Also, think about this: when people roll a random image and get a pony - they're still getting a bunch of thumbs down, but if it's something else - usually not. Your "fitting" doesn't work here at all.
