Okay I am going to offer a non-fans take on this as tbh a lot of it is entirely subjective and not all that balanced.
Gonna post on the dA page, unless there is another place to post it.
I saw three random episodes of the first season, just to let you know I have seen some of the show.
And also it doesn't warrant really another look at the show, I have read through it and TBH it actually turns me away more as in one way it's a tiny bit pathetic that it requires this analysis. Not because of the content itself, but because the fans caused this escalation. If brony's had been quiet maybe it wouldn't have been needed at all. :P

N. Korean citizen (01/31/2012) [-] Very good man, I was actually thinking the same thing about the whole fanfic part in the show traits EXCEPT I feel like rather than just plot the characterization and the production also serve to help with the Fanfics.
Particularly the easy to mimic art style(<--- pic related) and the cutie marks which seem to be there to give a quick summary of a characters personality and have left people to think up things like Doctor whooves and assistant.
Also I feel like art style is the biggest cause of the moderate Brony since its generally the hilarious looking facial expressions that draw people in.
