AppleDash in the afternoon

two hearts alone yet love can make
but when one is lost the heart will break
hurt now rainbow the sky's are grey
for applejack has gone away
death will send his cold embrace
as you hold on to her face
cry the tears of sadness true
but understand she still loved you

As much as she wants to recover, she never does. Years pass, yet that pain still sears like a knife in her heart. She knows it's her fault, but some mistakes aren't able to be fixed.

though the pain alone she has caused
she begins to relies her fatal flaws.
hurt now she streaks across the sky
the rainbow mane leaves a trail left by.
though she has caused much pain to her dear
she try's to make it by bringing smiles here.
pain in heart she try's to move on
just to hear applejacks song.
"move on my darling and hold no fear"
"ill be in your heart and i love you dear"
rainbow dash sits and waits
the pain she holds she cant mistake.
she feels like she has fallen from grace
every time she see's aj's face.
hold true the path rainbow her friends have said
as aj loves you forever they say in her head.
aj gone to a restful respite
rainbow dash sits at her gravesite.

It's been a long time since the accident. She still grieves for her best friend, but decides she needs to do something. She can never be happy, but that doesn't mean others can't. As much as it hurts, Rainbow dash decides to take to the air once more; she decides to help a young friend find her wings in the sky.

oh young scootaloo with wings so small
rainbow dash will help you stand tall.
though her pain she feels your friendly embrace
to help you fly with certain grace,
she will push you until you can fly
as she helps you rush across the sky,
spread your wings young filly true
rainbow dash is here to catch you,
never fall and never fear
you're flying with her your freind so dear,

She finds it. Her purpose. Her LIFE. She knows she can help this filly fight gravity. She sees determination in the young pony. She sees....herself. That scares her more than anything. She keeps teaching, despite this underground feeling; she hopes Scootaloo grows wiser than she was. She hopes....for a second chance.

a seconds chance
she holds her stance.
a second life
she holds to strife.
she pushes her hard
slowly she reveals her cards.
as scootaloo takes off the ground
rainbowdash heart begins to pound.
she looks away a blinking second
and scootaloo is gone her wings ascended.
she lets out a crys of cheer
"i knew you could do it my dear!"
they fly together in the cloud
her head hangs high she is proud.
she looks up and see aj face
knowing scoots will not take her place.
but happy she is she helped this young mare
her broken heart starts to repair.

Time progresses, as does her skill. Dash watches. She sees every detail. Every flaw. Every ounce of talent. She watches. Scootaloo has come far, fast. Faster than Dash ever did alone. Dash knows her advice is helping, but she is still scared. Everyday, she sees more of herself in this flyer. Scootaloo is becoming daring.

*She lands. Lying in front of her is AJ*

Dash jumps back to reality just in time to see the sonic boom.

the sounds so fierce it peaces the sky
the young flyer faster than the eye.
she moves with grace her teacher near
and she now know the meaning of no fear.
she pushes her limit to her masters embrace
only to see the fear on rainbows face.
she pushes the cone into a boom
flying gracefully she moves to a tune.
landing softly near rainbow dash
she feels her staring into the past.
scoots walk over and hugs rainbow dear
my freind my mentor you can cry here.
hold back the tears of sorrows of old
"i may be young and i may be bold."
"but pain i can see it on your face"
"aj may be gone but her memory cant erase."
fear not my mentor she loves you so
fly with me and 2 booms will glow.
take to the sky's show her your love
but be weighed down by none fly like the dove.
aj is with you in your heart.
remember her dearly this from the start.
fly with me master
and will push past this old disaster.

She welcome the embrace. Looking down on her student, she smiles weakly.
"I'd like that." as she takes a step.
They fly high together, weaving between clouds. A somersault leads them downward.
She looks next to her, watching Scootaloo's speed, matching it with her own. It's been a while since she has flown like this, but the feeling is still strong. The mach cone steepens; Dash smiles.

seconds go by a boom ignite
a second one hits just mid flight.
a rainbow mixed with orange so clear
the flew so far yet feels so near
above the farm they let them go
ponyville in an uproar by the show
pain is replaces with happiness instead
as dasie lands and kisses scoots head
thank you my filly i needed this so
you helped me along and helped me grow
thank you scoots ill never forget
you helped me get over my painful regret
