Well my brutal attempt at fluttershy was a disaster, looked like a 3 year old drew it, i actually had to redo this like 6 times

I use fat tipped sharpies for really loose sketches to get warmed up. They're fun. That's what I used on the above pic.

I thought you ment a sharpie like ma fat one there, pens are too messy for me because if i mess up i gotta completely restart, occasionally though il do an outline with a pen but what pisses me off is that i have this huge box of colored pencils, yet NONE are the right shade of twilights body

I can't help you there. I suck at coloring. =( Although if you have Prisma color pencils, they're supposed to blend together well to make other colors. But they're like..2 bucks a pencil.
