Pardon me; I live very close to where this happened, and I can correct the story here.

She SCREAMED bless you across the room during class just to prove she could say it. The teacher had listed it (among many words and phrases, mind you) as things not allowed in her room. The student was not disciplined for saying bless you. She was actually disciplined by administration for being defiant and disruptive. If she had screamed obscenities across the room, her punishment would have been the same. It's not her word choice that ultimately got her in trouble. It's the fact that she was willingly insubordinate to a supervisor and disruptive to learning.

Yes, the teacher making "bless you" against her rules was a bit much, but it was not the only phrase she banned. Instead of taking this concern to administration and following appropriate procedures to have the policy investigated, the student decided to act on her own in an inappropriate way to simply show the teacher she could do what she wanted. That, my friends, is what got her in trouble, not the words.

America: Hey guys! Look, we're making all students in school sing God Bless America at the start of the day, isn't that great?

Rest of the world: No America, you can't MAKE people sing it if they don't want to, that's against your own constitution

America: Ah, okay, gotcha bro.

America: Hey guys, I listened to what you said, so I've started punishing kids who say bless you in the classroom Aren't you proud of me?

Rest of the world: Dammit America

Man, something is clearly ******* wrong with your country, Americans.
Doesn't your country have some kind of seperation of law and church?
						******* weird.
This happened in the south, right?
The south seems to be ****** up not only in the US. In Germany, where I live, we have some kind of furuncle at the south, called Bavaria. They are just like that. Weird folks.
My dad is from Bavaria. He once told me I couldn't be an atheist because I was baptized.
You probably already noticed that I don't know where I am going with my comment, let me finish by saying:
America, what the **** ?

she apparently screamed it across the room even though it was on a list of phrases that were not allowed to be said in school (things like "hang out" and "stupid" were on that list, too). so this isn't some sort of anti-religion thing, it's just the school being stupid and the girl being a little **** about it.

Alot of people are saying that it's because its the south or they are saying only in America, and while those things have some merit, the real reason is because

1. It's school. Remember all the ******** policies your school had?

2.Again, It's school. It's not like an administrator would abuse their power and label it as Political correctness right?

3. The new dawn of "political correctness". Anything you say that is even slightly contrary to the so called "forward movement" of people (who need to hear what they want to hear or are so butt-blasted that everyone else's differing points of view are wrong) is automatically labeled as wrong or biased in some way that is offensive. Like we have to accept that person who openly dresses like a furry everyday but we cant show our religious beliefs. We also cant say or do anything that could offend anyone, whether through words or actions, which could basically be anything with the right angles. It's all hippie ******** . **** your feelings. YOU dont like it? Well YOU can leave, so **** right off with that **** .

<mfw everyone cries when I use the word "retarded" to describe my friend buying a mac and using it like a windows machine.
