I'm not a christian, I'm an Atheist of the most assholish breed, but look at our national anthem, look in our ******* bill of rights, the necessary and proper clause, it says god (I'm pretty sure of the christian breed) a lot, it's all signed to his name. On the original money, on our money today: "IN GOD WE TRUST" So retard, before you start slinging stupid **** like this, look at what religion has done for this country, it was founded on god, and I can tell you for sure that it lives on god weather you like it or not, weather "God" exists or not. I think anyone who slings crap like this on the internet is just a commie nazi jew from canada who needs to be banned from this plane of existance.

few counterpoints, I just woke up so forgive me if I'm short with you.

1: The national anthem was chosen by congressional order in 1916, 140 years after this country's founding, and has absolutely no bearing on the founding fathers or their intentions
2: The origin of the use of In God we Trust is traced back to 1861, during the civil war an influential reverend petitioned the treasury (which at the time, only issued coins) to put a reference to god on union money so as to promote the idea that god was on the side of the union forces. American paper money was all issued by private banks at the time. This was not universally done for American coins until 1936, at which time all of our coinage had been "converted" so to speak. As for our paper money, the US only started printing it's own paper money around 1916 when that sick **** Woodrow Wilson created the Federal Reserve Bank (which is, in my opinion, the worst decision made by an american president ever, hands down.) However, our Motto and what was printed on the money at the time was E Pluribus Unum which loosely translates to something like "many as one". In God we Trust was adopted as the motto of the united states by Eisenhower in 1957, 41 years after the federal government began printing paper money, and it was done to essentially naysay the state enforced atheism of the Soviet Union, to assist in differentiating us from them, in some sort of twisted bid for moral high ground (which, let's face it, it would be nearly impossible NOT to have the moral high ground against someone like Stalin).

What was the point of all that information I just gave you? Quite simply, at no time were the founding fathers involved in any way with your "examples" of our country being founded as a christian nation. We were actually founded by a group of Deists, and the constitution was written based on the values of the Enlightenment. I would venture to suggest that you should either return to school and pay attention during American History class, or if you are still a minor who is in school, please pay better attention during American History.

You aren't an atheist. Don't lie.

I am, I find the fundamental thought of religion flawed and retarded, but every great country ever has been founded on christian ideals. Look at the wonderful blossoming nations that were founded on staunch atheist beliefs, including but not limited to Nazi Germany and the Soviet union. Its the same as why Marxism looks so good on paper but doesn't work. I take my beliefs from observation, and I observe countries founded on religion triumphing over those without, same with the Marxism, but I digress, Humanity is dumb as a whole, and while I am euphoric because of the enlightenment of my own vast intelligence, most people need to think that there is something other than dirt and worms waiting for them at the end of the road to get anything done.
