What kind of spoiled **** thinks poor people on welfare live lives of luxury?

This is pretty much ******** . You might be able to get steak and ribs for ONE DINNER on food stamps, but the rest of the month you'll be eating ramen, and if there was a sale, hamburger helper.

I think the food stamp program is kind of ****** up. I worked at a grocery store (not one of the big chain ones, just a local grocery store) and a person walked up and tried to buy dog food with food stamps. I told him is wasn't allowed and there was nothing I could do. After getting ****** with me for a good 15 minutes he goes back and gets 5 or 6 steaks and said " **** it, I'll just feed the little ****** these." It kinda makes me sick. This and the amount of people that try and buy candy bars and booze.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? 36% of all participants in the food stamp program are white. Only 22% are African-American.

******** .
I spend $30 a week tops on feeding myself. And I eat and cook damn well for myself. It just takes a little effort, but good produce is cheap, and meat is priced reasonably enough. Throw in a few extras like dairy and some herbs/ ****** and you can make glorious meals for pretty damn cheap. Enjoy! Hell, eating is so damn fundamental its pretty stupid not to know how to feed oneself well... Don't poison yourself with overpriced, processed garbage.

As for this post, this woman is making at LEAST 30k a year. After taxes which are skewed in her favor being a woman and a mother of at least one child, she can still reasonably support herself and her child(ren) while living in a decent place. Its a pretty good living situation. In any case Hamburger Helper is awesome for cooking with so dunno wtf the point of her burb is.

The guy... he definitely looks like he's got his **** together. Probably gonna make a sweet ass dinner for the mother of the child he clearly cares for. Steak and ribs. Probably pan seared on a bed of buttery garlic as onions caramelize on the side, and slow cooked ribs smothered in homemade sauce, then a sweet treat for dessert... **** yeah.

tl;dr OP is a ******

This is terrible.
For one, there are more white people on foodstamps than black people.
If someone was to get foodstamps, they would not spend it on steak and ribs because they have to make the stamps stretch all month. And if someone wanted to buy steak and ribs, why shouldn't they? because someone somewhere else is eating hamburger helper?
It is a nice thing that the one baby's mom can work, but not everyone can which is how foodstamps started.

The poor people getting government aid are eating better than the people who work hard. If you are not from America, here is how it works. The government hands out these papers to the people who are unemployed, and say "here go buy food". But here is the kicker, with this paper they can buy expensive food, beer, and cigarets. There for the middle class gets to work there asses off just to keep food on the table, the majority of the poor can eat their steak, and drink their beer. This is all happening while the rich gent's argues which is the best way to fight this "War on Poverty".

TL;DR The rich will stay rich, the poor will stay poor, and the people in the middle will have to work like hell to stay above the poverty line.

Whatever about the foodstamps/ welfare system, but when I was a cashier at sams club I had a lady come through my line, buy $200 worth of food with EBT, and then pull a wad of 100's out of her purse to pay for the alcohol she got (most of it was patron and hennessy) and that pissed me off to no end

That last comment came off as too harsh - I'm trying to make a point, not be an ******* while I do it. Still, statistics will show that the idea that working-class Americans have less food money than those on food stamps is completely backwards. The welfare aid is rarely excessive - most people on food stamps only have enough for about 3 weeks of food. Are there abusers of the welfare systems in our country? Of course, just like with every system involving money. However, a significant majority of those on welfare programs are hardworking people that simply can't make enough money to provide for themselves and their family otherwise.

So how much money does the average person who gets foodstamps actually receive? Last I heard was that the main criticism of food stamps is that the subsidy is so low that it makes it difficult to actually afford healthy food.

It really depends on the family. My father was the only one working and he only brought home about $300 a week. Then you gotta think about all the normal bills and everything else. My mom can't work because of her back being ****** up and I was in school and sick a lot so I was in and out of the hospital. We weren't getting any in food stamps. They kept saying that my dad made to much. So sometimes even if you need it they wont help.

Things like this always kind of make me mad. Not everyone abuses the system. I can't work right now due to complications with my pregnancy, and my fiance doesn't make enough right now on his own to support both of us. Usually I wouldn't care. I remember going months only eating ramen, but being pregnant, I need to take a little better care of my diet, and had to get assistance. I've gotten dirty looks before, and cashiers have made comments about it. Specially when I decide to treat myself to something name brand, or steak in this example. My little guy is doing a number on my back, and if I want a steak well goddamn it I'm gonna get one. D: Though, I think the most expensive thing I've bought the past couple months is one of those big boxes of Hot Pockets for my fiance. They keep him fed, which keeps me happy since it's less cooking I have to do. v.v

Not trying to be a dick, but did your fiance study in highschool? you say he doesn't make enough money to support you both, so i'm going to assume (don't hate me for assuming) he didn't get a well enough education to get a good career in order to support a wife and child. I'm really not trying to sound mean here (even though I can get very dickish when discussing politics) And also, what education have you received and what job/career do you have?

Meanwhile the rich laugh and take our money while we fight amongst ourselves. You really have no grasp on reality, do you, OP?
