Well... This may get me thumbed down to oblivion, but was George Washington really that much better? I mean, King George had his motivations to go down like a tonne of bricks on the colonies. He was fighting a war, the people were rebelling and rebellions at the time were dealt with in only one way: they were crushed. If he hadn't separated his troops and sent some of them to the colonies, the colonies would have been lost either way and the war would have been for naught. The more clever move would obviously be to give the colonies representation in England rather than to push them to this rebellion, but leaders at the time were hardly humble in their ways most of the time.

Then we have George Washington, the man who while he claimed to support the abolition of slavery owned several plantations with slaves, funded efforts to crush slave revolts and condoned the hunting and recapturing of slave fugitives even where slavery was already abolished. But it was normal at the time, right? No, that's not a valid argument. It was normal at the time to mercilessly crush rebellions as well, and to tax everyone regardless of representation, but we don't consider that, do we? In addition, he ordered the slaughter of hundreds of Iroquois men, women and children with the words: “Destroying not only the men but the settlements and the plantations is very important. All sown fields must be destroyed and new plantations and harvests must be prevented. What lead can not do will be done by hunger and winter.” - only to then sell/give the survivors as slaves to white plantation owners. This is all ignoring the fact that despite the Founding Fathers' alleged intentions, the rights and means to vote and live as free men did not even extend to people other than rich white men for a long time after the Revolutionary War.

So, how is George Washington any better than King George in your book?

So you all know america helped in WW2 iin Europe, North Africa and the pacific and we did play a major role while others might think Russia did more, ask yourself Russia had practically 1% factories who gave them the guns and ammo they needed to get as far as they did not to mention the food and medical supplies so yes Russia did extremely well but only because we gave them something to use beside pitchforks, America and GB are super close and if you even thought about messing with UK America is gonna bomb the **** outta you so bad your own people will overthrow you.

God Bless America and God Bless the UK and i guess france too

Imagine it this way
You were being harassed by other people who want to harm you for various reasons. Your dad goes and beats most of these people up but gets kinda beat up himself.
Your dad starts to limit your freedom as a result. So you go and buddy up with someone your dad hates with a passion, and proceed to beat him up.

I can imagine why we arn't invited to the Christmas party. LoL

Except the US is undoubtedly Canada's greatest ally, and arguably the UK's as well, and also has good relationships with New Zealand and Australia.

Well I think after you throw you dads stuff into the sea, attacks him and your brother and then server all ties to them I think you basically walked out of that family. But at least you modernized the concept of Republic though.
User avatar #31 to #9 - shadowmaul (12/08/2013) [-]
just pointing it out that while yes we had our own reasons we declared war on them, japan attacked without declaring war which is why it was such a sucker punch because we didn't know we were at war, but we did help out UK and France in other areas besides europe like Northern Africa
