The island of Ireland is split into two countries.

The Republic of Ireland: (Irish irish, leprechauns, Guinness, clovers etc)
Northern Ireland: Terrorists, Civil war (The Troubles), Catholics v Protestants.

The guy in the picture is a member of the UDA (Ulster Defense Association) a paramilitary / terrorist group dedicated to keeping Northern Ireland British and not Irish by Kneecapping people, bombing pubs, shooting the IRA.


People in my country identify themselves as Irish, British or Northern Irish depending on where their loyalties lie. The guy is supposed to be Northern Irish and not Irish.


The Northern Irish and Scots are very friendly with each other due to similar lifestyles and attitudes. We're not the happy go lucky Irish leprachauning tiddly dee people in Northern Ireland. We're the country of murderers, terrrorists, petrol bombs, kneeecappings and hunger strikes.


Not many people know that Northern Ireland and Ireland are two very VERY different countries and that's why it's awesome to see Northern Ireland Ball in polandball comics.

I both goof'd up and didn't... if you consider the balls as the entire countries, then it's not a paradox, because europeans will still go to america and history will unfold again. then i goof'd up.

BUT! In this comic, I see the balls as single persons, because otherwise the whole USA (as in every citizen) would have gone back in time.. the ball wouldn't really represent the whole country if it's just one american person going back in time..
so I guess it's how you interpret the balls

it still doesn't matter though. If I went back in time to 1900 and was killed, myself in the "future" would still be born unless I changed the future so that my parents would never meet or something like that. the same goes for the US. even though he died earlier in time he will still be "born" when Brittain colonizes him. In fact his death in the past might have been one of the things that caused him to be born.
