I hear this joke all the time and never get it.

To the Chamber of Understanding! (At least until someone explains the joke to me)

This would've made me laugh if the conversation been written top to bottom. But it wasnt, so I didn't get the joke and thought they were just speaking nonsense. What about that part of english is so hard for people to grasp?

Occupation has multiple meanings. It can refer your work, or to taking over another country by force. He was asking a German crossing the border what he did for a living, and the German made a joke that he wasn't going to take over Poland this time.

I never get these comics, somebody please explain this to me.
#82 to #38 - anonymous (07/06/2013) [-]
I'll explain. So, border-control asks the guy in the car his name-gets an answer. Country-gets an answer. Then asks "occupation?"---he means "what do you do for work," but the guy in the CAR thinks he means, "Are you here to OCCUPY my country?"--- and the guy in the car answers calmly, "No, I'm just on vacation." See? Get it now? I lol'd when I read it.... semantics.... words can just be funny sometimes.

During the beginning of WW2 Germany invaded Poland, Poland in this comic is asking Germany what his occupation is, occupation can also mean invading or taking control of an area. So Germany responded with just visiting. Meaning was wasn't invading or occupying the area.

Please not my WW2 history is pretty **** and it is late, but that should the basic idea of it.

It's like a retarded Hetalia, you just get a dictionary and check the last page, there's probably a section of flags of the world.
