I've always found the Chinese and Japanese seem to find themselves as nations incapable of wrongdoing. I mean **** there isn't so much guilt built into the system as there is here, I hate to say it but most of central Asian culture as a whole is built into a very self-centered ideology. I mean **** , I know Japanese and Chinese guys who've gone back home and agreed that both countries are full of xenophobic asshats. Things need to change for the east on a cultural scale, and the whole world needs to be reminded every once in a while that we bear the sins of our forefathers on our backs like the greatest of turtle shells. Then maybe we'd be less inclined to do **** , no matter your ethnic, religious, national or cultural identity.

given how the communists killed more of us than the japanese ever did, and they even drove us off to a single island, it is kind of easy to forget about WW2, even if my parents served in it.

Read Chinese history.

They do it like that for 3000 years. They also went down because of that. They only opened up again when the british came to hongkong and forced them to do so. China also never really had an army in the ancient times. They only had barbarians fight for them. Experts believe that it is their aim to enclose their country again.

Are you retarded?

**** you

Let's go to Africa and ******* genocide them for selling their own kin as slaves.

And "Xenophobic" is used in a retarded way all the time.

They like their nationality to stay like that, without foreigners, who the **** are you to decide they don't have right to do that?

China and Japan are countries that don't ever want to be viewed badly, so they try to never admit blame. One time and American bomber was flying by China's eastern border and as usual Chinese planes would come by and follow them through. The Chinese had this one pilot that would get all hot shotty and fly super close to the bomber. One day that idiot rammed the bomber on accident killing himself and the whole bomber crew. The US was fairly furious that China let this reckless behavior happen and demanded the Chinese return what was left from the crash. China said it was the US's fault and refused to give anything back until the US offered an apology. Even after the US got sick of their crap and apologized, they didn't get anything back for months in which the US assumed it was probing the crash to learn how to make better bomber. They are selfish self centered countries, which is a shame because they have so much rich and interesting history.

>we bear the sins of our forefathers
I'm more of the mind that we're each our own person, I don't think you should be blamed for something your ancestors have done. It's not my fault that people who look like me have killed people, and I don't see why I should feel guilty about it.

At least we can agree that there's something to be learned from such histories.
#44 to #10 - schnizel (01/27/2014) [-]
History did not start the moment you were born and it wont end when you die.
If your mom **** an african gentleman and gets aids, gives birth to you and you have aids, its not your fault but its still there.
Or
Your dad gets some money from the "Happy merchant bank of Israel" and gets hit by a truck tomorrow I wonder who will pay the debt?
#66 to #44 - jollo (01/27/2014) [-]
I dont agree that we should carry the guilt of our forefathers because then the next step would be to start blaming each others for it, and isnt that how hate and distrust is created in the first place?
as for the scenarios you mentioned, it wouldnt matter who you'd blame because you would just as ****** no matter what. The only valid reason(that i can think of) to assign blame for the past is to stop it from happening again.

The universe is indeed unfair, but that doesnt mean that we should give up and accept it. Sure, we might have to accept that injustice happens more often than we like, but that makes it even more important to make sure that we ourselves dont become the source of it.

A lot of the people in Japan don't even know of the crimes Japan committed during the war, since they were never taught about it.
#5 to #1 - anon (01/27/2014) [-]
Actually, they've admitted to it multiple times, and was actually a driving factor in their culture that had many invest in China. Other issues, like the Yasakuni Shrine and Diaoyu/Senkaku disputes have been made up by the Chinese government to increase nationalist ideology. The Yasakuni Shrine doesn't specifically commemorate war criminals, its meant to thank all people who died for Japan. Even Prime Minister Abe, who is incredibly nationalistic, has stated that he is not visiting it for the war criminals. Japan has apologized dozens of times, and the Chinese media instead reports that Japan hasn't apologized due to it being controlled directly by the government, which profits from political tension that might increase their status in East Asia. The Diaoyu Islands are disputed by China on the claim that they were historically Chinese - a claim based on an ancient text describing its location. In reality, Japan has administered it for 50 years and the issue was never mentioned.

who wants to admit the wrongdoings they have done? I didn't learn about the Native American genocide we have committed in high school, or how Britain violently oppressed the Irish, and Russia doesn't admit to the atrocities they have committed in world war 2.
User avatar #19 to #7 - reginleif (01/27/2014) [-]
We actually did learn about the Native Americans in our public ghetto school. (Amazing how they managed to include that in huh?)

The British on the other hand, yeah those ******* could at least stand to learn that their Armed forces have fire upon unarmed people in every country they have occupied.

They even wiped out all men over 18 in one city of their Asian colonies.
User avatar #62 to #19 - aloneinkyoto (01/27/2014) [-]
Yeaaah, the general decorum most history teachers in the UK established when I was in school was that we were pretty massive dickheads in the past. We even talk about some of the atrocities committed by British soldiers/civilians today. We don't bury our past haha, we're well aware of it.

User avatar #33 to #17 - apaulcolypse (01/27/2014) [-]
Precisely, but he Chinese have been under the threat and the guns of the Japanese from the 1st Sino-Japanese War to the end of WWII. My point is that it's no wonder why the Chinese hate the Japanese so.
User avatar #37 to #33 - reginleif (01/27/2014) [-]
Oh no doubt the Japanese have been aggressive and committed atrocities. I'm not going to deny that, but all of Asia seemed to have had the same problems with expansion, and respecting humans rights at the time.

It wasn't just the Japanese.

Granted I do understand why people are angry at them, they haven't exactly owned up to any of it.

But we have to remember that if we're on the topic of finishing off, many people still criticize Eisenhower for not ******* up the Chinese with the nuclear stockpiles available at the time during the conflict over Taiwan. Not everything can be solved with bombing the **** out of people. And that's something the Korea, China, Japan and the US needs to learn.
User avatar #89 to #4 - sadisticplatypi (01/27/2014) [-]
this is mostly the effect of hate propaganda that is present everywhere within the PRC it promote nationalism. it is very funny that the regions that is occupied by the Japanese for the longest period of time, is also the one with the least amount of resentment.
hate propaganda is present within almost all major wars, to make the war seem just even if it is no more than an ugly brawl. just like how the nazies began all that ayran race **** and Napoleon with his whole anti-corruption **** . the only difference that that the Chinese never ended the war even if ww2 is over for 60 years.

With ~8000 years of recorded history, and the genealogical mixing that has occurred during that time, by your logic, everyone has ample reason to hate everyone, and, indeed, themselves.

Since your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather killed your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-uncle, you should probably avenge him by killing yourself.

I'm just trying to work out if you're trying to justify the holocaust or if you're the sort that denies it too.

If you knew anything about the Sparatacist revolt then you'd know that the majority of people involved were not actually Jewish but many of their leaders were as a result of them having both a higher standard of education than most Germans and a history of being oppressed by virtually every European power. As such they tended to be leaders in Leftist movements.

That being said the likes of Rosa Luxemburg were politically distinct from the mainstream Communist movement at the time so suggesting that this was part of some Evil Jew Conspiracy is as ludicrous as saying that the Nazis wanted to return Poland after the war.

wow, that is probably the most colossal ******** i have ever read. The time between 1918-1919 in germany is known as "Novemberrevolution", a politically driven revolution inspired by communist ideas (which is not a bad thing) and the insistence of the german supreme command to have a naval battle with the royal navy, despite the war being pretty much a lost cause, due to the fact that the shiny new german navy did not see any action during the war. That uprising led to the replacement of the imperial government with the weimarer republik. Jews are not even remotely related to that conflict, so i don't even know what that idiot is talking about, or is that a regular occurrence on /pol/?

alright then, i wouldn't have thought i would ever meet someone who actually believes in the myth of jewish bolshevism, but here we go. First of all the overrepresentation of jews in communist movements in that time, is easily explained by the low social status of many jews, which means that communism is a favourable ideology. Other overrepresented minorities include georgians, armenians and latvians. noone ever mentions those, i wonder why. Secondly, after communist rule was established, the prominence of jews usually quickly declined. That some jews would remain in influential positions is only natural, due to the huge number of them in said movements. On to the novemberrevolution.
The bavarian communist movement was hardly of relevance to the overall revolution, due to the fact that it was quickly subdued by the forces of the german empire and their leaders executed. Bavaria, especially munich was later established as one of the most prominent nazi strongholds by the way, so as a bavarian i can conclude that bavaria was rather prone to extremism at the time.
The revolution was also not motivated by anything related to jews, but rather the inability of the current empire to properly lead the country, not least thanks to the delusional emperor. After the weimarer republic was established, not a single jew was in a major position in the new government. That included the head of state president Friedrich Ebert (not jew) and the chancellor Phillip Scheidemann (not jew; later adolf hitler - definatly not jew).
If the jews (if we now assume the jews had any kind of unified body, which is ridiculous) had any intention whatsoever to subdue germany in any way, they would probably have tried to gain at least some influence, don't you think? Lastly, the establishment of the Weimar Republik was ultimately what enabled hitler to rise to power, so well done jews.
Germany today is again a social democracy (like back then), so i guess communist jews are behind that aswell?

R. J. Rummel, a professor of political science at the University of Hawaii, estimates that between 1937 and 1945, the Japanese military murdered from nearly 3 to over 10 million people, most likely 6 million Chinese, Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos and Indochinese.

2) in Nanking only 300.000 innocent citizens were killed. In total, about a million

1) dam straight
2) this number is associated with both military and civilian personnel. NOWHERE does it say that the number is ONLY for civilian deaths.
3) I understand that the atomic bomb was a necessary evil. I was being sarcastic more than anything there. However, to the Japanese the invasion of China and other Asian countries were a necessary evil as well. Japan is an island with VERY limited resources. With other larger countries being uncooperative (basically seeing Japan as weak and having no real power), they decided to take instead of having to beg and plead.
4) Was being sarcastic, but now on a serious note.
No one ever wants to think another country instigated a war. However, China throughout the years have caused so much grief to Japan. Albeit a long time ago, China along with many of the other asian countries have tried to invade Japan. Though it always turned out that the seas to Japan were treacherous and their troops would either be dead or demoralized before the invasion ever started. Japan made clean work of these so called invaders.
Then we have the fights over Korea. Once again, Japan decided they ONLY needed to take control of Korea. Therefore getting a foothold into the main Asian continent and resources. However, China believed Korea was theirs and waged war on Japan.

to be honest, the japs aren't as bad compared to the commies. the death toll from the japs is around 300 thousand, while the commies killed 45millions (according to Dr. Rummel in his study of Democides). while murder is murder, but it is easy to let racism rule our opinions.

Murder- the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another

This really doesn't apply in times of war.
I'd agree with the term massacre though.

I don't deny that the massacre happened. However, we forget that a massacre doesn't imply that the people are civilians. Massacre just means one group of people killed **** loads of another group. There is no where that says that the numbers are of Civilians...it's a number of both civilians and soldiers.
User avatar #76 to #52 - sadisticplatypi (01/27/2014) [-]
but then again, compared to 45 million, this is not that much. I know that democide is a disgusting thing no matter who committed it. but the point I am trying to make is that, the emotions toward the mass murders are often based on hatred and political agenda. the PRC is responsible for the GREATEST genocide of all times in term of death toll, but it is often unreported. the reason... they won the war. and they got nukes.
