In a Polandball comic the UN and the UK makes Israel out of clay into a cube. That's why.

Israel is consideres to be a coutry, which "just doesen't fit in".
Thats why he is a cube rather than a ball.

It's supposed to be a hypercube in reference with the large amount of Jewish scientists that were around at the time of the making of Isreal.

It's actually a joke that plays on the fact that Israel defends its borders so rigidly.

TBH I don't completely know why.

But I do have the comic that started Israel's form.

Well, originally it was from a political joke, where UK made jewland from clay (land), it's square because unlike all other countries, it's constructed by someone else.

As an American studying a lil' bit o' IR, I think it would be fairly prudent to point out that Iran is one of the only countries in the middle East that has a successful and non-corrupt political system. The fact that Ahmadinejad just sort of went back to his little apartment in Tehran and goes to the market to get groceries is pretty ******* abnormal by Middle Eastern standards where every other ex-leader is chilling on an Island in the middle of nowhere...

True, but Iran is much closer to Israel, and has much better capabilities than NK.

Israel is right when they claim that it could be dangerous for Israel, because the Iranians couldn't hit the US with it.

That being said, I think it's bull when Israel defend its landholdings on the basis of "defensible territory". As technology becomes better and cheaper the large amounts of land they need to be safe from rockets will only increase. It also shows the Israeli mindset they come with into negotiations, regarding the Palestinians as enemies that they need to defend against, when the point of negotiations is that there will be a ceasing of hostilities.

Granted the Pales never really GIVE the Israelis a reason to believe they will stop fighting in the first place.

Maybe we should be more concerned about Pakistan and India who actually have had a constant bitch fit since they were released from Brit control? Who both have Nukes aimed at each other and practically wave them at each other? Not the Israeli's who are more concerned about the unstopping string of suicide bombings and Palestine who get's it's ass whooped on a Daily basis but with regular bombs? Really they can't use a Nuke or a chemical weapon without loosing the support of the entire western world and then being successively swamped by the horde of Muslims if the Arab and Persian states if they achieved a level of mobile military mobility to invade that tiny ass piece of land them and the Palestinians have been bitching over for seventy some odd years right now. so we should really be more concerned about the constant **** fit a little towards the east?
No?
Just me then.

>implying pakistan and india will ever actually go to war
It's like Russia and the US during the cold war. All the diplomatic machinery is in place, multiple hotlines between the nation's governments, etc. But now let's say there was some border clash between two countries that didn't have that relationship. Let's say one of them cut all diplomatic contact and one government had absolutely no way of contacting the other and the conflicts kept escalating and they were just blindly retaliating against each other.
tl;dr read world war z because i'm blatantly ripping it off

Only thing they can do is **** each other up.
If they are stupid enough, let them.

Israel is whole other thing, they are raping the palestines because ''they don't trust them/need room"

Just because people have been a douchbag towards you doesn't mean you can do that to others. (especially when Muslims have done least bad against jews)

New crusades pls.
#55 to #54 - anon (11/04/2013) [-]
What makes it even more pathetic is that palestines cant do **** about it, its like Nazis attacking poles and such.

EXACTLY! Israel is the new nazi germany.

The use of nuclear weaponry is out of the question in any case, they are solely used as deterrence - and any usage of nuclear weapons in the modern world will surely lead to the annihilation of that country, maybe even the US.

I got the impression that the Indian-Pakistani conflict is not explosive at all today. Yes, the countries has priors. Yes, both countries despise each other. But would they ever do anything, launch a full scale war or nuke the enemy? I don't think so. Both countries are integrated into the diplomatic world, and a conflict would be excruciating for anyone who starts it. They both got a lot to lose. So even though they have their missiles pointed at each other, and their troops standing at their borders - it's more of a cold war rather than Israel-Palestine or the other Arab states which can turn warm any second.

While both India and Pakistan has a lot to lose in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict it's just Israel who has something to lose, they will be outlawed by the international society. Palestine, doesn't have access to nuclear weapons - but they've got nothing to lose. They're surrounded by the Israeli, and are practically occupied because of Israeli influence. If they attack they can't get it much worse. The conflict is more real, more explosive - and more probable than an Indo-Pakistani conflict. That's why the focus is more drawn toward Israel and Palestine.

Hah, I never heard about that before. But yeh, it's works well to describe the nuclear capabilities of Israel
#38 - kmichel (11/03/2013) [-]
Just as the focus on Syria was entirely about oil, so too is the focus on Iran. Iran has an energy crisis, and a real need for nuclear power. If they ever decide to build a nuclear bomb, it's unlikely that they would ever use it knowing that it would mean their immediate destruction. Even if they have one, I don't necessarily think it's such a bad thing. Can you blame them, when their country is entirely surrounded by US military bases?
