they hang the animal upside down and slit it's throat to let it bleed to death, because of the blood rushing to the spinal cord, they feel the pain to the very end.
If it's done right, the animal goes unconscious because of rapid decrease in blood pressure. It's also a Jewish law that the animal must be killed with "respect and compassion".
No idea where you're getting this hanging upside down thing from.
I'm looking at "How to create Kosher Meat" and the Halal version.
The only similarity, is that the animal needs to be killed by a "good man" (and it can't be pork of course) by way of a slit throat.
After that, people only eating Halal meats have to have it hanging and can take any cut (as long as it's not pig), whereas Kosher can only takes certain cuts, doesn't require the hanging and can't eat any cloven hoofed animals.
So I was a little off, but not that far, saying that they are the same is like saying that they are the same as ordinary slaughter, close, but different.
