"The inspiration for the comic came from discussion with Lithuanian lecturer. He was wondering why Finns were waiting for the green light even when there were no cars in sight. This was the best excuse I could come up with." ~hulibuli

That last picture pretty much sums up the Soviet attack strategy during the winter war.

Nope and nope, I'm half Swedish-half Finnish born in Sweden. Not beeing allowed to study Finnish in school my knowledge of the Finnish language is limited, however I've learned a few things.

The Finns used dead, frozen Soviet bodies as sign posts (see comment #16).

Also, the Finnish army had some of the most systematic methods of recovering the bodies of fallen soldiers. In the end, very few bodies were left on the battlefield. This intimidated the Soviet troops: even when they had had a big victory they would not find the bodies of their enemies, seeming like they had never died.

*popular
pop is actually its own genre
User avatar #24 to #23 - jjvoodoo (02/21/2014) [-]
did you just call Lordi pop you little **** ?
User avatar #27 to #24 - failzer (02/21/2014) [-]
No. I said it was Equivalent to pop compared to our mainstream.

for Example over here Pop (popular mainstream music) is **** like One direction and JB
in America and Britain.

Whereas In Finland there pop (popular mainstream music) is Lordi.

Which is what makes them badass.

Catch my drift buddy?
User avatar #41 to #27 - jjvoodoo (02/21/2014) [-]
no you didnt say that it was equivalent to pop, you blatantly said they were pop you ass hat
User avatar #30 to #27 - vikingfaen (02/21/2014) [-]
pop now a days isn't just what's popular though. It's just music that's easy to make, get some pretty people to be in the band or do the singing, slap a 4/4 beat on that 4 chord riff. You got yourself a pop song.

I have a Finnish m39 ... absolutely BEAUTIFUL gun ... Plus it seems to be more accurate than the Dragoon I had ... The bore seemed a bit tight though ... which is good ...
