The Irish were used as cannon fodder for the English. Hundreds of thousands were slaughtered because the English were too scared to go over the trenches first. History.

Hey! We got bomber, Once, so, like, whatever man! Plus Brits treated us like **** for so damn long and used us as cannon fodder in WW1 and we just got Independence from them, and went through a Civil War, so we didn't have **** to fight with anyway, so like yeah.

Fun Fact: Ireland, as a neutral country during WW2, didn't officially help either side, though they shared intelligence, weather reports and some airspace with the allies. Taking the neutrality thing a bit too far, however, was the fact that Ireland was the only country besides Japan to send condolences to the Nazi government following Hitler's death. Just to rub it in how neutral they really were. Cos hey, they'd have done the same if an allied leader died so... why not?

I was gonna make a comment about how Spain was already rubble from the Spanish civil war, which would have been really embarrassing considering I confused that flag for the Spanish flag even though it's the Italian flag, which is even more embarrassing considering it's the Irish flag.
