So did 70% of the croats, serbs, and bosnians... but its amazing how a little media censorship and propaganda work in favor for some people? Funnily enough those who wanted Yugoslavia to stay STAYED in the country and those who either committed war acts or had everything destroyed left to other nations. Matter of fact I was in the bank few months ago... saw guy in his 50's with a young blonde; he had a military hair cut.. the way he stood.. it just wrote military on hm. He asking to pull a big amount of money out. Clerk told him that the moment he exited the bank she did not gauruntee safety... well from personal experience that's one of those "get rich during war and run like hell after" types of people.. chances are I should of called the RCMP; but then again karma kicks in later on in life.

70% of the croats? The referendum in croatia to leave yugoslavia had 90+% 'yes'. yugoslavia may have had some good sides, but it was a pile of **** nonetheless.

Yugoslavia was a pile of **** only because Tito left no capable administration after he died, and country was practicaly governed by military officials that had no knowledge how to lead multiculural and multireligious country. Things got even worse when they were unable to deal with nationalistic extremism that started to form in the 80's and poor economic develpoment of southern republics. The country had a fine receipt when it was formed, but was spoiled because of bad decisions and interests of minority...

incredibly false. most of slovenians, croats, and citizens of bosnia (mostly croats and muslims) declared for independence on referendum. later montenegrins joined too. how else would they become independent??
