If you haven't noticed, all the fire starters are based off of Chinese zodiacs (much like how the grass starters are all based off of reptiles).
When Infernape and Emboar are compared you will see the similar theme of spirals. They are based off of the Chinese story Journey to the West (PLEASE NOTE: Blaziken is just there, not involved). In Journey to the West (JTTW) and many other cultural references, the main character, the Monkey King (Infernape), travels by nimbus clouds - golden clouds in which spirits and others can fly on, like in Dragon Ball Z. Nimbus clouds have tons of spiral designs, hence Emboar's and Infernape's spirals.
In JTTW, The Monkey King befriends a Pig, who share their habit of vicious brawling.

But Blaziken is still my favorite, fuck those guys.

I've been with Pokemon since it first entered American soil, and I still love it to death.

Sure, the fourth and fifth generations may not be up to par or have as many memorable Pokemon, but they're all still great and each offer something new and interesting (Pokemon or otherwise) into the series.

How I hate those genwuners, pokemon B/W were really awesome games with a really well storyline unlike previous games (I've began playing when leafgreen came out). Gen 5 has some really epic pokemon - the starters, chandelure, eelektros, haxorus (my favourite), the timburr line, leavany and so on...

On another note, anyone ever noticed that Infernape is statistically the best starter of Gen 4? Fighting takes out Empoleon and fire takes out Torterra.
