Neck is longer compared to the collar, face is slightly less round, eyebrows are narrower, nose is more off-center. Last but not least, broader shoulders. All these matter more than you'd think.

Eyes and ears are slightly smaller, giving the appearance of a larger, older head

I disagree with the shoulder thing.
You can't see his other shoulder and since it's a larger picture it just gives it the illusion that they're broader.
Tho his ears are smaller meaning that he finally grew into them.

I was just answering the question. Speaking of sherlock, is that show in any way worth mentioning if I'm a big fan of Arthur's original books? Will it live up to the name?

I have not seen the show, but I really want However, I have read the books and found that SH often made grand conclusions that could have had other possible (and sometimes much more probable) solutions. Don't get me wrong, I love the books; it's just that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle could've written it better. They were very entertaining to read and sometimes quite realistic, but it could have been done better. IMO, even though I may get red-thumbed to level one for it.

I would watch it though, how else would you judge if it is worth it?

I am a fellow that too has read the original stories of Arthur Canon Doyle

Sherlock matches the basics of the stories, but he has a much different personality than Holmes himself did I would think. He's a lot more quirky, constantly texting, etc.

The general stories are actually strikingly similar, yet fantastically modernized.
I would very much suggest it.

The show is god damn amazing. Even if it's different to the books (Which I've yet to read) it's a good show. Likable characters, interesting cases, all that good stuff.

Not sure, I honestly haven't read any of the books, but I do like the show a lot. It is a modern take on it, so it'll be very different.

His hat also covers less of his head. Assuming the hats in both pictures are the same size, it gives the impression that his head is bigger in the bottom picture.
