Ever since I was a kid I always imagined that when a wild pokemon "fainted" it died, my own would obviously be recalled to their pokeballs before substantial damage could be done so mine would only pass out. I had a twisted childhood...

It really makes no sense that we can't catch them once they're knocked out. I have yet to hear a plausible theory as to why besides the obvious it would make it too easy. Which is a ****** reason.
