The next gym would be a grass type if I'm not mistaking, so make sure to have a medium to high level flying or fire type. if you have one, you'll be fine for the most part, but if not, you should probably go do a bit of leveling grinding to get within three or so levels of the gym leaders pokemon and stock up on full heals because she uses plenty of status changing moves

Yeah you'll be fine with just burning the plants to a crisp with fire moves.
