That theory is so full of holes. I own the first three episodes on VHS. He never gets hit by lightning. The theory also says something about team rocket being menacing before they get hit by the same lightning bolt as Ash, but they were never menacing (They get beat by stringshot), and the closest thing to a lightning bolt in the show, pikachu's thundershock against the spearows, occurs when team rocket is nowhere to be seen. Hell, they haven't even appeared in the series at all by that point.

Reread your coment again you are right about them not apearing yet as they didn't apear untill ash reached viridian.

String-shot is after the bolt of lightning, he hadn't even made it to Viridian at that point, team rocket was menacing up till ash's first encounter with them, which is after the Spearow attack.

If you look at the the left of the image which i had to screen-cap myself from the first episode ash is blown back by the lightning, he wakes up with pikachu with the bike burned up (which was farther away than ash from pikachu).
