I guarantee the water/fire type is going to be as useless as feebas with an everstone. They don't have a good running streak with blessing an awesome pokemon with an awesome type combo.

I think the point of the post was that Rock attacks do x4 to Fire/Flying, not that Stealth Rock is lethal.

SR does 1/2 on entrance to Fire/Flying. The only rock type attacks that are used are rock slide and stone edge. Every of these attacks is a gamble since they have a 25% chance to miss.

except most rock moves have a horrible accuracy and abysmal damage compared to moves of other types.

mind you I probably won't be using that pokemon anyway unless it had some godly stat distribution.

70 power, and it's special while most rock types specialize in physical.

there are also only 2 pokemon that can learn it that won't get you laughed out of most competitions and they're both legendary, which are usually restricted.

your ampharos would be better off using thunderbolt, 95 power>70 power same accuracy and you get the bonus multiplier from using a move of your type plus it being super effective against flying.

also, ampharos in competition lolwut?

competition, or competitive battling. for every day playing against the pokemon league n stuff ampharos is fine but once you get into competitive (the subject of this post) you're getting into a massive world of min-maxing, cheap strategies, abuse of abilities and all that jazz. between breeding for max IV's and natures to full EV training.

basically my point was being doubly weak against rock when rock is such a dead-end is a very bad reason to not use a fire-flying type.

you really overestimate the effectiveness of moves that damage on switch, it was useless before but now it deals damage proportional to 1/4 of its power as opposed to 1/2 before.

Just so everyone knows all entry hazards have gone down in damage. From roughly 1/2 to 1/4. So they are only half as good as they used to be.

Moves like Stealth Rock, Poison Spikes, and... something else. They're moves that do damage when a Pokemon enters battle, whether it be through a move like Roar or the trainer swapping them out.

I honestly don't like what they're doing with 3D. I'd rather have that they keep it the same. I really like the new pokemon, but not the whole idea of 3D. I'd keep the top down view if I were them.

I dont care about getting killed by rocks
My issue would be if his attack and special attack were uneven
I hate getting a cool type combo and then not being able to use both types to their full potential
i.e. blaziken, ferrothorn, golurk, etc.

are you out of your mind? a local bird that isn't specialised in either physicall or speciall attacks doesn't exist. pigeot can do that cause he was made before the special stat was split but others can't. they already announced that it's a fast physicall attacker with acces to fighting mooves. what more do you want.
