I always had the hardest time picking a starter. When I played gold I went with cyndaquil. Then soul silver I picked totodile (and fell in absolute love with feraligatr - zeke was the first pokemon I ever got up to level 100). And now in heart gold I'm picking chikorita because it's adorable. Don't even get me started on Noctowl or the legendary beasts.

totadile was the first i picked in original silver, and i got him up to at least level 70 on the 8th gym, so h destroyed everything for me

people keep asking for gen 3 remakes. Thing is, they dont need them.

they needed to remake the first 2 gens, as you couldnt bring pokemon from the orginal 6 games to anything newer. the remakes allowed this. as it stands currently, you can get any pokemon from any of the games and trade them forward into the newest games. Couldnt do that before the remakes.

that was the main reason the remakes were made. with that reason gone? they might as well go with a whole new game.

but possible non the less.

which is more then you could say about connecting gen 1 and 2 to the newer games without the remakes.

Nope. In this case they go hand in hand. Im sure lots of people would want something we need as opposed to something we dont.

Hundreds of thousands of people would buy it, they don't have to work to create a new generation of Pokemon, which they already had issues doing in G6, and it would be more cost effective than an entire new generation, considering they'd only have to redo the graphics and add a few extra features.

With that said, I think more people would pay more for a game with every region available to play, but that would take quite a while to make properly.

Hundreds of thousands of people would buy any pokemon game, new or remake.
it just seems the whole reason for the remakes have been filled. If I want to play gen 3 nothings stoping me from firing up my sp.

As for running out of pokemon ideas....just open it up a bit more. Tons of good fan ideas for new pokemon.

They would buy any Pokemon game, but the one they want especially so. Even without that, it's still more cost efficient. From a capitalist point of view, it's less work for more gain.
And, they would have to sift through so many ****** fan ideas in order to find any decent ones.

Well if we're talking that route it would make more sense for Nintendo to just release the gen 3 games on the virtual console. Even cheaper and easier for them.

Actually thinking about it. I could see them doing this. With less and less hardware around able to play the older games, it would be the easiest way to still have them accessible.

Not to mention lots of people who would buy only 1 physical copy of a remake might very well pay the same price for 2 copies (ruby and sapphire) of virtual versions.

No but they could charge 20/25 for it easy. Plus they wouldn't have to spend any money on production (Making cartridges/cases ect.) Make more money that way I would think.

Just look at xbox or PlayStation Or even the wii, People pay that much for digital games all the time. As for finding it cheaper? Good luck. That Really depends where you live. Around here they go for 69.99. And buying online? Odds are extremely good that you'll end up with a counterfeit copy ( no really. Google it, its a huge problem)

People also buy old games for that much.

Final fantasy 7 download for ps network is a great example.
Or halo 3for xbox.

But we've gotten pretty off topic, and my eyes are closing themselves. Thanks for the discussion!

Was 19.99 when I bought it 2 years ago.
And halo 3 still has a 39.99 price tag.

Trust me. Just because a game is old doesn't mean people wont pay big money for it. And if download is the easiest way? Then they'll do it.
