Poor Chespin
This is based off the theory that the new starters will have the secondary types to gain an advantage over their rival. The most popular one is that Fennekin will be Fire/Psychic, Froakie will be Water/Fighting, and Chespin will be Grass/Dark. Nothing's confirmed, but this does sound like a good idea. Each starter has x4 weakness to their counter starter while still resisting attacks from the start that they themselves counter.
At one point I wanted to make a pokemon game using some of the resources on the intertubes, but I realized it would take like 50+ hours and I never had the time. I drew the concept for the fire guy though. His final evolve was an orange rhino with ice horns.

Grass is a weak typing. Most pairings are gonna suck. Find a team to work around it if you really want it.

Nobody cares about Chespin. Fennekin and Froakie seem to be the most popular out the two. Fennekin's main attraction seems to be that it's A) a cute fox, and B) the possibility of it not being a Fire/Fighting.

I'm choosing Chespin. I love Grass types. Torterra is my favorite starter. Strong Pokemon, Weak Pokemon. It's all a matter of perception. A real trainer should train the Pokemon he/she loves best.
