unova was based on new york.

and the new one will be probably based on france/europe.

Yes and no. It's iffy in areas.

Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are based on on actual geological locations in japan, Unova was based on the US but it's map doesn't reflect any actual place on our earth.

And in many Pokedex entries and conversations with NPS actual real world places are mentioned.
So it's safe to assume Pokemon is set in a world very very similar to ours, with a few added and changed geological locations.

Oh well, this reminds me that France is currently at war and that we're doing quite "well" , even though I don't think anyone could or should ever say that a war is going well.

I am commenting because some of you might find interesting to know that France is currently fighting against terrorism in Malia and that you can see military pretty much everywhere in public places because pretty much every radical islamists hate us. For once, I think our president made a good decision, especially because the inhabitants of the country are really grateful towards our military.

Pic related it's one (AKA Red beard, woohoo pirates and shit) of the guys who is currently threatening to attack France (with things such as bomb attacks obviously) .

By the way, Corsica, which is part of France has the highest rate of criminality in Europe currently. Robberies (Using trucks, RPGs and AKs) and shootings are quite common. France is shit, people are shit and homophobia is currently the cool thing to be around here.

WOOHOO.

I'll just thumb this content up because why not after all since a majority of FJ users find that stuff funny.

TL;DR France is currently at war against extremists sand niggers and I'm just informing those who like to know about that kind of stuff. Cool story.

i'm belgian, but I practically live in france.
Many of the french actually are narrow-minded and conservative.
this is portrayed in many of their habits.
The radio plays the same damn songs over and over again, they won't adapt if in another country, and of course their mentality hasn't changed over 50 years.
There are however specific groups (especially in metropoles like lille) that are progressive. Join one of those, you'll be considered normal among them. Or if you can, try to move closer to the border. i've noticed people tend to care less (especially up north)
I know this because my former employer, also a good friend of mine is gay and told me all about his issues.
anyway, good luck in life, whatever decisions you take.

Everyone hates the french language. It is so nonsensical. For example passé simple: a tense used solely for writing. It is the same thing as passé composé but a million times more complicated with more rules exceptions and weird sounding words.
