galkawhm (05/26/2015) [-] I picked up monster hunter 4U the other day and I just can't have fun with it. The biggest issue is the total lack of a targeting system. It's not fun starting a combo and missing every hit because you were 5 degrees off.

It's that way so you can attack pieces of the monster easily without having to cycle through a monster's like 10 parts. Each piece of a monster takes more/less damage than another as well as more/less damage from elements or whatever. It also allows for hits to the head to be fully in your control for maximum stunnage with blunt attacks or hits to the tail with slicing weapons to chop it off for specific loot.
tl;dr: there is no targeting system so you can hit what you want once you learn the mechanics without camera/targeting hassle.

neggagotbronchitis (05/26/2015) [-] then you are missing out on the little nipple on the N3DS, moves the camera. I find camera is mostly to see the monster, circle pad is to finely control the way you strike.

Deviljho comes in at a size range of a whopping 18m to 41m, over 10x the size of a haxorus AT THE LEAST. And Deviljho is vicious. Its breath will make other dragon attacks look like tiny fireworks. And its tail? Forget knocking you out of battle, it'll smash a haxorus to pieces.
Don't underestimate Deviljho.

He has a full a varied move set, adequate armour as you can see standard elements are ineffective plus his pokedex entry states how he can cut through steel beams not jet fuel! . youngchief (05/26/2015) [-] It's hard to find feats like that in the games outside the pokedex (which I might add we have literally no reason to doubt). Unless you go to the manga, which has plenty of great feats, like Lance's dragonair blowing up a city in a single shot, or the regi trio containing the explosion of a bomb that would have wiped out the entire region they were in, . I guess in the games you have things like Yveltal powering a weapon that would wipe out all life on the continent they were on

MH has one of the best gaming communities I've ever seen. Worst thing possible is a random joining up to a hunt with an uncomplete set, or above his rank, but that's what the kick button is for, and there's no much fuss about it
