grand theft auto already has a clumsy control scheme, i don't think it'll be very successful with a touch tablet/motion control. kind of sounds like a disaster waiting to happen

Wind Waker is just fine and I'm very happy, but we were all thinking a Majora's Mask remake.

Why don't we have both?

You should get Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U (and 3DS) if you haven't already, it was just released on Tuesday in the US and Friday in Europe. 3DS owners can even connect locally to a Wii U to have play multiplayer (really, the only differences between versions is that the U version is considered HD--the 3DS version actually looks pretty good--and the fact that the Wii U is the only one with online play). Capcom's Monster Hunter series is great, but unfortunately not so well known in the US and Europe, especially when compared to the huge fanbase in Japan. I'm pretty new to the series myself, having MH3U as my second MH title (the first I played was Monster Hunter Freedom Unite).

I'm really just tired of Capcoms **** when it comes to Monster Hunter. It is by far one of my favorite games. I've played ******* all of them. But god dammit only the first one and Tri were on a console, not including 3 Ultimate(as usual, it's like the previous game with a few new features). But I really just want them to make one with current gen graphics. We're on the doorstep of the next generation and a great series like Monster Hunter still looks like it belongs on the PS2. I just imagine Monster Hunter, looking like Lost Planet 2, and that's all I really want before I die.

I don't mind the graphics too much, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't want it. MH4 looks pretty awesome despite it looking pretty much the same as MH3U (what can you do, they're 3DS games). But with Capcom putting their Monster Hunter games on Nintendo consoles now, I'm just pinning my hopes on an unlikely Pokemon X Monster Hunter crossover. Can you imagine "Pokemonster Hunter" or "Pocket Monster Hunter"? That'll definitely give the series some attention in the West.

Well my argument is not graphics really. It's the fact that it's all handhelds. MH 1 and MH2 (which we didn't get in the states) Were console games. A lot of the fun of playing MH is multiplayer, and we doesn't embrace handhelds like they do in Japan (certainly not the multiplayer aspect either). I want a real Monster Hunter, in full current or next gen glory. Not a port of a portable game, or the same old look it's had since it's original release in 2004. That's all.

I'm with you there. Ignoring the graphical look of games for a moment, many games that I know I'll love have difficulty getting me to play them solely because they're on a handheld (and I own basically all of Sony's and Nintendo's handhelds other than the Vita). I enjoy console games so much more for no apparent reason it seems, but back to topic. The monsters still look nice now to me, but I agree that most of what Monster Hunter is looks outdated when looking at a console perspective; the series looks as though it's stuck as a good-looking PS2 series due to all of the console games being ports as you said. It's a shame, but not a deal-breaker. All I can say is damn those Japanese and their love of handhelds. As far as multiplayer goes, I do enjoy playing MH with other people as well as by myself. But, I don't usually like playing with people I don't know, and it is just so difficult to find someone else I know that plays MH. The only reason I have people to play MH with now is only because I managed to convince 2 of my friends to try MH3U out.

Yes, the games do still look pretty good. They aren't bad enough to turn me away from the series. But I would love to see MH in our current gen graphics.

The thing that bugs me about handhelds, is I do have the friends to play it with. But we all sit down in the different cities we live in, with our psp's hooked up to our computers, and play it online. Jesus how easy would it be to just be on a console. Handhelds hurt my hands a bit after a while too.

You have people you actually know who play the series? Lucky. That's the thing I hate with handhelds as well: you either have to be near other people to play multiplayer or play through the internet which completely throws away the advantage of portability that companies oh so love to mention. Perhaps this will change in the future, like how the Vita is now able to--from my understanding--go online anywhere through some extra paid service. While I probably wouldn't pay for this, as I primarily play most of my games of any genre on singleplayer and I don't have a Vita as of now, that could have solved the issue that you mentioned. The problem is, however, the fact that Capcom isn't going to be making MH for Sony anymore, but Nintendo (at least that's how I remember it being; I could be wrong). But, with the spike in Vita sales in Japan recently, that may change, allowing you and your friends to play MH whenever if you were willing to buy Vitas and pay for that extra service thing.

Haha, it doesn't matter what console it's on. I'll likely be getting a Wii U for Bayonetta 2 anyway. The short version is, I'm just tired of Capcom's ****. The games are either on handhelds, or high res ports of handhelds. MH3U is cool, but the play on Wii or 3DS argument I'm pretty sure is just another reason to ignore truly updating the game.

I find that the portability argument for handhelds is kind of stupid too. Hell I have enough people to get a full 4 man group on Monster Hunter, and we all have the handhelds. But if we're not playing through the internet, we're all at one of our houses.

Handhelds! You can play them on public transit or some ****. Like I'm going to gather my friends and just be like, "Hey guys, wanna play some Monster Hunter? The train leaves in half an hour!" Not to mention Monster Hunter is just not a game you can pick up and play with strangers. **** you can Pokemon battle some ************ and it would take a couple minutes. You find someone on a bus to play Monster Hunter with. Will you both be riding the bus long enough to go hunt anything worthwhile?

TL;DR HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRNGH CAPCOM!

Well, considering Retro Studios handled Donkey Kong Country Returns (and, I imagine, its 3DS port due this Summer), that's also a potential option for their next game.
