Found a pretty cool download for emulators that allows you to evolve trade only and stone only evolutions by leveling. It's called the Universal Pokemon Randomizer. Doesn't work for phones, but it works fine on my computer. It also allows for a lot of other changes, most of which I haven't tried.

spookywasted (12/31/2015) [-] Just started a randomizer the other day and got Huntail, Piloswine, and Sentret for starters. I picked Piloswine because why not ice is useful right? First route was full of fire types all with Sacred Fire.

Toshiro (01/01/2016) [-] I'd love to know the technicals behind it. I've noticed that the gamepacks that I power up ever year for a few minutes work perfectly, but titles (like crystal) that I left abandoned for a decade are dead.
Wonder if it's just a coincidence, or occasionally powering them up keeps the battery charged

funpunk (01/01/2016) [-] Nintendo magic, man. The only game I've ever had that problem with is my Silver, and the battery was out before I bought it. I've had it since I was a kid, had one that worked before but I lost it. I'd leave it on all night with the charger plugged in until I was ready to start a new game. Finally got around to replacing the battery about 6 months ago, should be good for another 15 years or so.
