You can't catch a Mankey before Pewter City in Red or Blue. Only in Yellow version is he available in the grass to the left of Viridian City. Also for you guys saying Charmander learns Metal claw. That isn't until later gens in which this comic is probably not referring too. Best method to defeat Brock would be to catch a Nidoran male and have him learn double kick or evolve a Caterpie all the way to a butterfree and have it learn Confusion.

TLDR; You filthy ******* casuals

Seriously dude? It's called fire red and leaf green. There is a Mankey on Route 22. Charmander also learns Metal Claw in these games. Maybe you should stop making assumptions about content that clearly disproves them.

TLDR: You are a filthy casual

You don't get it. Red and Blue has nothing to do with this post. Because, OBVIOUSLY, he had a Mankey before fighting Brock. Fire Red and Leaf Green were Gen III, thus Charmander knows Metal Claw. You are bringing up red and blue when it has no relevance here, and furthermore calling everyone casuals because of it. Everyone else understands that this comic is referring to Gen III, except you.

I did the butterfree method my first time, I think. And to add to your thing, metal claw wasn't even a move back then. Actually, steel wasn't even a type then, either, so.................
