Whilst I personally agree with OP on this one.

We need to realise that... those ribbons are part of the pokemon... they're literally part of this pokemon's flesh. That is kinda creepy.

Still, I'm all for the new. Viva la revolution.

I've been playing since Blue and Red. I will keep playing until they stop making the games or I am physically unable to do so. The games are fun. Yeah some of the designs aren't the best but everything can't always be amazing. If they stopped making new Pokemon we would've never known how much you liked Mudkips.

I've played Pokemon my entire life, and I actually look forward to the new Pokemon for each new generation. IMO, true Pokemon fans love the franchise regardless, and do not make Pokemon who are "poorly designed" representative of Pokemon as a whole. Also, Garbodor is awesome! It's the only Poison-type that can learn Psychic.

finally someone who gets it, there is shit pokemon and awesome pokemon from every generation. I for one look forward with promise, as the new generation dawns on the sunny and hopeful horizon of the future generation of the comforting amalgamation of pockets and monsters we have come to lovingly know as......
pokemon

I don't like the new stuff because of one single reason. It doesn't make sense. In the first generation there are only 151 Pokemon. 151 species of animals known to mankind. Suddenly, in gen II people discover there are more than 151 species. 100 more to be more precise. And so on for the next generations.

I find it hard to believe that those people, those professors who have traveled the world back and forth in order to collect data about Pokemon would miss so many of them. I mean, they have information about Mew from South America, yet they never checked the other regions of Japan?

This is why I don't like the other generations. Because of this gap in the story's continuity. I can't understand how on earth 100 new species of Pokemon sprouted from the ground. And then more and more and more.

You live in a world where everything is based on kidnapping animals by beating them into submission then forcing them to battle other animals. These animals also have the ability to shoot electricity from their body, spit endless amounts of water that can kill things, some are even ghosts. And you care about realism on their ability to find new pokemon.

It's a fucking ice cream cone man. An ice cream cone. It's not a set of magnets, it's not some awesome animal, it's a piece of food made from the milk of another animal. How does that even work? Is it created from the churned and frozen milk of a miltank? The given sentience?

It's a freaking purple rat man. A purple rat. It's not a soul stealing chandelier, it's not a samurai dragon, it's a boring vermin painted purple and given no unique features. How does that even work? Does it gnaw giant dragons and gods of time and space to death?
