I dont understand why people hate on call of duty for being the same thing over and over again, When pokemon does the exact same thing, Dont get me wrong, I love both games but I think pokemon is even more repetitive than call of duty. They make at least 2 versions of each release and they are almost identical except for pokemon appear rates and legendaries and junk.
Thats all.
Please dont hurt me.

Well...In general, you are right. Pokemon has a formula and sticks with it, and so does almost every game franchise. I mean, that is the point of every sequel - To give the audience more of something they enjoy.
But if you directly compare Pokemon to CoD, the most obvious difference for me is the amount of novelty in the franchises. CoD games have new weapons and new maps in every sequel, Pokemon games have a new region and new pokemon.
The point is: It takes much longer to explore a new Pokemon game than a new CoD.

For every gen they release a whole new story with a new character and 100+ more pokemon. In CoD they just build up on the same story in mostly the same places. The changes aren't massive, but far bigger than Call of Duty Modern Warfare franchise.

CoD is literally the same game every year with slightly improved graphics and minor gameplay tweaks. It is also part of a self-spawned genre that is home to games that are painfully generic. This genre is synonymous with all that is wrong with video games, i.e. barely changed yearly releases, visually uninteresting, focusing more on multiplayer, while the single-player is essentially a hallway where you pause to occasionally shoot people. It also has overpriced, nigh-useless DLC (although I will acknowledge the Alcatraz zombie DLC is decent).

Pokemon is a series of games with the same basic gameplay, with new features in every generation of games, with a new generation coming out generally every 3 to 4 years (although each generation can include up to 5 games built on the same engine released within those 3 to 4 years). A new generation brings improved graphics, a vastly expanded Pokedex, and a bevy of new features. These features might or might not carry over between generations, but there is ALWAYS something new gameplay-wise in every new game or pair of games. Pokemon is also very unique within the open-world RPG genre, with only a few other games showing some similarity.

The majority of people who play Cod dont play it for the campaign and the developers know that, Thats why it isnt that great, But the dlc isnt "useless" at all, They add new maps and so said that cod only offers better graphics and a few new features and that is not good, But then you said that Pokemon does it and its a good thing.
Again I love both games but I just dont understand while one gets more hate than the other.

I hate CoD because I think it's a bad game, and there's nothing to it but hype and greed. The company who makes 'em pretty much said, verbatim, "We'll keep making 'em 'til you suckers quit buyin' 'em." I've only played a few, but I learned quickly. I liked WaW, hated MW2, and got bored of BO so quickly I took it back within six days of buying it. But then again, I'm not like most tools out there who play just Multiplayer. If a game doesn't have a good Campaign, I'll walk away from it faster than a black man at a Klan rally.

From there, I've just gone by what my friends-- Who've played them, and are generally open-minded and tolerable-- have to say. All of them tell me they're literally the same game, and they get [i]worse[/i] with each game.

[i]I[/i] think CoD's just bad. You don't have to agree at all. I have never played any of these Pokemon games, which probably makes me a Heretic beyond all recognition, so I won't speak in Pokemon's defense nor will I speak against it. But with CoD, there's no effort put into it. Not even [i]feigned[/i] effort. The company that makes it has literally laughed at the people who support it, called them all idiots for buying it, then walked away with jingling pockets.

In short? It's not about the game, it's about the soul.

Evidently I don't understand how the coding works here. BBCode used to work and now it doesn't. Weird.

I know Im going to be red thumbed to hell for this but...

Was I the only one who despised the Gen 1 remakes? I thought they lacked the nostalgia the real games owned and the Sevii isles, while a good idea, were rushed and just plain awful if you ask me.

I like pokemon a lot but at some point in most of the games it becomes so tedious to do anything that I just snap and have to stop playing for a while.
