It isn't like this is the first type effectiveness that doesn't make sense. Grass being super effective against rock makes very little sense, unless someone can explain it, i haven't figured out yet. Flying being super effective against fighting doesn't make a whole lot of sense either.

Grass grows in rocks, you know, moss and things like that.
Also, if your strength is not quite much, but you can simply fly away when you're about to get punched, then you have an advantage over beings with physical strength but unable to reach you while you evade and hit'em in the back.

The guy who came up with Pokemon was legitimately autistic. There you go.

Grass>rock? Have you ever heard off or seen a tree grow through a rock and crack it? sure it takes time, but it's the best i've got there...

Flying>fighting? lets put it this way... Air will always have a tactical advantage over infantry. that's why pretty much every military force has an air force. Once again, not the best answer, but it's still an answer.

The point of this comment? to show that neither of these make no sense... just very little.

Plants can grow on rock. Large enough plants have roots that could break/crack rocks.

Well I can see why that would make fighting not very effective against flying, but not flying being super effective against fighting.

Think fighter helicopter or jet versus a samurai

Paper covers rock, grass covers rock. Flying equals plane which drops bomb on fighter.
