Well once you meet Bill it actually says Bill's PC. Bill was the inventor of the Pokemon storage system, so I guess his PC is kinda like a database?
That's how I learned of him, then I watched Pirates of Silicon Valley, and a bunch of documentaries on the history of Apple, Microsoft, and Linux. Also, I took a class on video games and the professor had a massive hard-on for the Woz.
I'm just saying, many people don't know where their technology comes from. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are widely known names because they make themselves public. Consider Unix, the operating systems which all modern operating systems were built from, which people are unlikely to know; relatively few people would recognize the names Brian Kernighan, Dennis Ritchie, Ken Thompson, Douglas McIlroy, Michael Lesk or Joe Ossanna, major contributors to Unix; likewise, not many would recognize Richard Stallman (GNU,) or Linus Torvalds (Linux.)
People don't care about where technology comes from or how it works as long as they have it.
