... Didn't Ash's Butterfree get lost in a storm at sea? I distinctly remember reading how Ash traded Butterfree to some british dude, then had second thoughts. As they were trading back, the pokeball that Buterfree was in was dropped and fell into the ocean. Maybe I'm wrong, please correct me if I am, cuz being trapped in the ocean in a pokeball waiting for your entire life for someone to find you seems like a morbid as **** scenario for a children's show.

in the tv show he lets his butterfree go with a heard of butterfree because his butterfree wanted to get busy with a female butterfree. damn i've said butterfree more times in the sentence than i have my entire life. butterfree

Interestingly enough, if the Butterfree in the anime breed like they do in the games, then Ash's Butterfree is still alive.
