well my newfag friend. How long have you been with Funnyjunk. If you say 1 year, 2 years, then there are likely some older things from, say the green funnyjunk that you haven't seen.

Say you've been here since yellow? Then what?

No, I have been here since green. But you see, if I am right on what you are trying to say, it doesn't matter that I wasn't here at the beginning. That fact changes nothing. I am getting tired of idiots trying to argue with me when every point the try and make changes nothing in what I said originally.

I'm just saying I've been here since yellow, don't get all upset over nothing, there are others like me, so this page would become sort of an annoyance. That's all.

I wasn't upset in the slightest. The tone was meant to be light on my first comment. It was meant to show that hey, some of this content could be funny even though it is a repost.

Do you know how things make front page? People vote. They give positive or negative thumbs. If it makes front page then more people liked it than didn't like it, which means that the people who HAVEN'T seen it and thumb up outweigh those who have and thumbed down. It does annoy me somewhat when people complain about it, but that isn't enough to make me angry.

Now I did get slightly upset when, for the forth time today, someone tried to argue with me by stating a point that had absolutely no affect on what he is arguing with me about.

You're right, people vote to determine front page material. That still doesn't make "re-posting" a good thing. More often than not the re-poster knows that this content was on here before, and instead of trying to make some original content they just upload what seemed to work. It really discourages people to make their own original content because it may not do well, crash and burn so to speak, and possibly be re-uploaded at a later date given no credit on their work. All this channel really does is say "hi, this is some funny content i saw a long time ago here, so i think i'll upload it now." It might be for nostalgia, or it might be for thumbs. Its still re-posting though. People could have easily started up a chain of comments on one of the "safe for work" boards saying "ITT: first things you saw on funnyjunk" or "ITT: old funny things you saw on funnyjunk." Who knows, it might attract more attention to the boards if they are being at all neglected.
It kinda sucks that even though i may have not seen the content before, if its a re-post its still someone else's content, and other people are being recognized for it.

TL;DR- Why make original content when re-posting is so much easier and effective?
