Honestly hearing yourself say something out loud or having someone else poke a hole in something you said can be really important in many things, game development in relative isolation being the biggest example for me personally. If you don't show someone what you and/or your team is made for too long you might fail to notice critical flaws in it that you and/or your team has self-justified. A reason why these people And by these people I mean people in general who come up with crazy nonsensical ideas that fall apart upon immediate analysis from anyone with moderate knowledge of the relevant topic are so scarce in reality is because a) Maybe they chicken out and don't say it and then later regret trying to say it, people are human after all; and b) other people with a different perspective realize something about what they have said and bring new/fresh/original insight to it for the person who suggested it.
TL;DR: If you can't take constructive criticism you're much worse off.
