Bitch please. Im getting 50-25fps with a 3570k and an R9 390X and that's with AA and texture filtering turned down. No way a $400 system is running it on ultra at playable framerates. The 390X ALONE was over $400. Either I need to overclock my 3570k or Fallout 4 is a monstrosity of poor optimizing. ******* amazing game though.

overclock, have same CPU I have it overclocked to 3.8 instead of standar 3.4 and I believe if I get a better motherboard I can get it to either 4.2, 4.4 or 4.6

I think 4 is better than both and I have many hours in both those games. My pc has had no problem running this game and I think it looks great. I also didn't hype it up because I know game development has its limits no matter what company makes the game.

In what exactly? Having a blast so far and have yet to find anything to complain about besides that power armor is gotten way too early. Haven't found a single bug so far which is absolutely amazing for a bethesda release. Though I do miss the skills

Ok the textures are pretty **** and the game is simple right now. As usual bethesda doesn't do a great job on making npcs interesting. I suppose waiting for some mods is understandable but the game is still a ******** of fun and for once doesn't seem infested with bugs(so far)

But to match up to previous titles it's gonna need some work from the modding community due to how amazing the other games are with mods

True. But remember that the modding community on previous games has made some amazing mods over the years. I'm not calling this the best ******* game bethesda ever made. It's just another fallout title, and like previous fallout games it has a load of fun stuff to do but the game overall is simple. For a more interesting and difficult play, bethesda seems to like leaving that to the modding community on all their games nowadays. In the end they made a solid game and that's fine by me

My definition of a solid game is a fun game with a tolerable level of bugs.
I'm having fun.
Not running into any bugs yet.
Best part about it is that there is loads of content I can have fun with. Not much more I can ask now is there? Sure they could've done a much better job and made the game complex. But so far my expecations have been met gameplay wise. So long as they release solid games with ********* of content that the community can build on, that's just fine. It's exactly what I expect from them

Look through the Steam reviews and cross-check them with playing time. Most have played it non-stop apart from sleep. If that constitutes a bad game, I don't want to think how much time you waste on a good one.

The point is that "everybody" likes it. Even those who scream loudly that the game sucks spend most of their spare time playing it. They're just being hypocrites when they speak negatively about Fallout, and I reckon you belong in that group.

Well that's the **** ai really. Since they went for making a city with rubble all over the place, the ai tends to get stuck here and there. It's not too often though. Every few fights I notice that someone got stuck. Otherwise I haven't noticed any bugs. And I didn't really mean to pass it off as praise. It's just a very pleasant surprise to have a bug-free game(so far) after expecting the worst

Really comes down to luck, whether your game bugs out and ***** the bed, or works flawlessly without a crash in sight.
I can say that while the dialogue suffers a little, I find the voiced protag fairly charming. Gameplay is gripping with some nice (though not terribly well explained) city building/management as well. The gunplay and customisation especially are ******* awesome. And the ******* POWER ARMOR oh my GOD YES!

If you're making your decision based off the things said on funnyjunk, i'd rethink it. Idk why but like half the people on funnyjunk are butthurt about fallout 4 even though theres nothing really wrong with it. Like 80% of the negative reviews on steam are about the game crashing (which hasn't happened to me). Its pretty much exactly like other fallout games with a few tweaks here and there. I'm a huge fallout 3, new vegas, and skyrim fan. I dont see what all the fuss is about fallout 4. Its your average fallout game, and its fun.

My complaints
-unenthusiastic voice acting (yes even the MC)
-boring and cliche mainquest
-fetching sidequests, lot of them
-bland NPCs, 0 backstory, generic names (neighbour, soldier, resident...) don't help
-bland companions
-essential NPCs. A lot of them
-no level cap=become a god and **** specialized builds
-game's too easy! You get a power armour, minigun, the lase muskeet that one shot enemies in the first 30 min under lvl 3. Oversimplified RPG mechanics
-dialogue is ********* , 4 options dialogue wheel don't help
-map size is small and feels empty. It doesn't help that there's only 1 city (seriously?)
And the usual bug, graphics, animation, lipsync are **** complaint
It's a good FPS and a bad RPG
For me it's not a Fallout game
6/10, wait for mods to fix ALL the **** ups. Let's hope they don't make them cost money

Well it is good. It has some issues though, atough they are not that bad. Yes, some bugs are there, but they are not gamebreking, by a game that size it is almost impossible to ship it without. The controls are a bit weird, but you get used to it. Also FOV sliders arent in the settings, which i dont like, i prefer a FOV of 90, and 80 is just too little.

As soon you have a game that you can spent over 400 hours on and still find new stuff, it is impossible to try every combination that somebody who plays itcan experience, and maybe get a bug out of it. Yeah that bug is bad, but not gamebreaking because it doesnt look like that the player cant continue after loading the last save. Gamebreaking bugs are defined as, well game breaking, like bad spawn placing in multiplayer games. quest that cant get finished or similar.

That bug is illusionbreaking.

I was honestly ready to buy it this weekend but after hearing some of the stuff they did to it (omitting dehydration/starvation/sleep deprivation, omitting skill based dialogue, gimping speech options,stimpacks healing limbs instead of doctors bags ect.) i honestly feel like i can wait. Falloutnew vegas was a step in the right direction (gameplay wise) its sad the couldn't continue or expand on that feeling of survival.

Based on what ive read, yeah. Honestly i dont doubt that it will be a fantastic game but as far as having the depth that new vegas had in its gameplay, no. Hopefully modders make a mod that will implement the survival feeling new vegas provided kinda like the did with fallout 3.
