I've had teachers that prefer the boys because as they describe it, its easier to tell when there's a bullying problem with boys as oppose to girls. With girls, everything just seems fine until the parents come to the school screaming about their daughter being bullied. Girls are sneaky little bitches.

Dunno about other places, but a large majority of teachers (especially for elementary school) are women. Boys don't have a good enough male role model to relate with school sometimes. All the best teachers I've had were some of the few male teachers, even some female friends of mine agree.

I find it intresting that many schools treat little boys being boys like a disease and say that they need to be more like little girls because they arbitarilly decided that how most girls behaive should be the excepted standard for both genders. this pracitce strikes me as being kinda sexist.

I disagree with you. Having one standard for girls and one for guys would be unfair. Letting girls get away with less than young boys "just being boys" is more sexist than holding both genders to a standard that helps prevent disruption in a learning environment.

If schools were amusement parks, then both boys and girls would most likely be set to a standard where "boys can be boys."

As in my last statement, making the standard lean towards boys creates an environment not suitable to learning, and will give them leniancy that will cause worse behavior later in life in most cases. I understand kids are kids but if you want them to mature into adults, you have to let them have their fun and correct bad behavior. We can't have schools become free for alls because "boys will be boys"

really how wil making a standard a little more suited to the way boys behave and the way boys learn and showing a little lieniency turn them in to monsters ? "you have to let them have their fun and correct bad behaivor " I agree but the problem is who defines what is unacceptable behaivor in a school ? I never said free for alls was a good Idea . all I'm saying is schools can take some consideration to how boys think and act and learn when designing curiculum . right now almost all ciruclum is designed for girls or geared towards feminising boys.

Designed for girls and feminising boys? That's ********. Schools design the curiculum to promote a stable learning environment. Apparently you just have it stuck in your head that schools are run by feminazis trying to ruin the lives of young boys. You don't understand, boys (and girls) are corrected for bad behavior in school, and generally allowed to have more fun at home and on the weekends, where their childhood flourishes.

"they use you and toss you like trash." I think somebody is/was having some issues with the female gender. Regardless, if girls really do all that and get away with it, how is the school curiculum designed for girls? All of that stuff is against the rules, so you're making two contradicting points.

not at all they are two parts of a whole system the way most classes are taught are in the format most suited to how girls brains learn best which is oral explaintion and note taking. then the dicipline side of the system is set up to punish far more typical male behaivors then female behaivors. most female behaivors are exaled and male things are demonised.

hmm well I suppose that is a possibility but the data from studies goes back to the mid 80's and shows that young boys, so 6-12 yea olds learn much better when the teacher uses visual aids and or props and makes class overall more interactive. now schools have know this for at least 15-16 years and have done nothing to improve teaching methods or curiclum. this show that because the current system works for most girls they just don't give a ****.

Really? Most classes I've been in have included loads of hands on activities. I don't think it's that schools are trying to be geared towards females, but it's definetaly lots easier to teach through notes and explanation than to do activities for every single lesson, which would be unnapealing to girls. You have to consider all sides.

By not even giving a thought to how and what boys need and want to learn the system in place now hurts them and shows distane for their well being.

US people has an insane obsession with being "normal". They do boring things, live boring lives, marry boring people and have boring hobbies, just because that's the normal thing to do. Then marriage ends, they divorce, lose their money, lose their jobs, lose their will to live and kill themselves. And they teach their children the same. But if you are any different, they put you on drugs, so you can "adapt to society and have a normal life". Well, news, fellows, some people just don't want a normal life, but they ever have a chance to be themselves for the demon of Ritalin.

And, the saddest part is they admire people who isn't normal at all, like GRRMartin, Steve Jobs, Sheldon Cooper, but they never do anything to be like them, because they want a normal life.

If you think that academic or professional "success" worths depression, then you're not all-right at all. You gave up happiness for money. You lost your will, and your life doesn't make any sense. ADD is not a disease, is a genetic characteristic as especial as being tall or having long fingers. It has its disadvantages, but you can use it for your own benefit if you try. The problem is that ADD/ADHD is really hard to diagnose correctly, so most people will just shove drugs down kid's throats if they have symptoms. Thus leading to 90% of children "having" ADD/ADHD. I probably would've been diagnosed with ADD if I was tested, and then I turned out fine. This comment is completely ******* pointless, I just wanted to feel like I was contributing to something.

funny story I just remebered when I was younger my sisters and the neighborhood girls for some reasonone day created "The glitterhand sisterhood" and started extorting all the neighborhood boy allowance money for "protection or sisterhood tax" which they assured us if we didn't pay not only would we get kicked in the balls but our action figures might have unfortunate accidents .

At first we resisted but they eventually stole a bunch of action figures including my Dr.malcom from jurasic park and made "examples" of them. they smashed them with bats and then melted the peices with fire. it was horrifying.

the extorting continued for about a year untill during a tea party gathering of the families someone killed a beach tan kipper barbie and girl gang war broke out for revenge and control of the sisterhood also apperently behind the secnes my 2nd oldest sister who was the god sister was hogging to much of the loot collected for herself.

so for about a week all manner of barbie dolls and bead necklaces and hair accessories and a few mini posters of nsync or backstreet boys were destroyed by the warring factions. it was a dark time filled with extreme bicthess and my sisters randomly attacking me for no reason.

Finally after a particularly brutal cat fight in which my sisters barbie's favorite red glittery dress was destroyed , my sister called a end to the bloodshed, concessions we're made and they returned to business as usual.

Finally about 8 or 9 months later my sisters decided to disband the glitterhand sisterhood on the day of her barbie's wedding on which everyone would be alow one request . I asked for cake it was tasty .

fast foward to present day girl on FJ tells me all girls are inocent and only men can be violent savages .ya sure tell that to Dr.malcom !

well their are many reasons young boy's act out in school a major reason is nature did not intend boys to sit around for hours and hours they need to run around more then girls do schools know this but they don't give a **** , also boys brains take 9-12 months longer to develop literary and verbal skills so right off the bat girls have a advantage in language classes again schools and many teachers don't give a ****. scientific studies have show boys learn much better if the teacher use props and makes the class more interactive where as girls learn more from simple verbal teaching and note taking. again schools do not encourage teachers to use interactive methods of teaching . also a recent study found that boys will learn more efficently if their books have pictures and or picture examples in them . so it is clear young boys learn better by seeing and touching things but schools encourge boys to sit still and listen which is counter intutive if you want boys to really learn. and of course thier the dumb egg baby thing which most little boys are not mentally developed enough to take care of a egg for a whole week without breaking it . and feminists take this data and actually use it to try to prove men cant care for children. and of course creative writing classes are completely biased because they demand boys write the same way as girls and penalise them if they don't which is stupid. with this progresive disregard for how boys learn and simultanious catering to little girls is it any wonder that they boys are having such a hard time in school these days ? the system is basically neutral in places or against them in others from day one.

Well clearly you didn't excel in English class sir.

Also don't use the words "nature" and "intend" in the same sentence. Nature has no plan, just 26 rules.

perhaps nature has no plan and thier are just conicidenial patterns in the chaos. never the less we can agree humans male and female are predisposed to show certian types of behaivors based on thier natural brain development.

Indeed sir. Indeed. But at the same time it's unrealistic to try to educate with respect to all the various styles of learning. We already attempt to do so by offering various courses and even different types of exams so as to help certain types of people out, at least in America. Some will just have to work harder than others and there's little we can do about that given our resources.

But yeah, it's painfully stupid to heavily medicate children just because they're hyper IMO. For whatever reason some of the most messed up people I know are the ones that were diagnosed with ADHD and then given high doses of medication as children. But that's just me.

I see your point but I was mearly implying that attempts could be made in grades 1-6 to included more visual aids and props into class and maybe extend recess to 20 instead of 10 and maybe all everyone to get up and strecth for a minute or two every hour. little things which will make a big diference. but I have seen no intrest in making school better for boys and girls I have only seen efforts to make school eaiser for girls and many many attempts to force boys to act more like girls.

There is some overdiagnosis, yes, but when your mind is documented to work differently and you can tell that by simple introspection, yeah, it's a real thing. If I don't take my ADHD meds I'm an inattentive ass who laughs at everything and pisses people off. That's not how someone acts at the age of 16.

One Log in and say that. Second If those families go to a reputable medical doctor or pediatrician that problem wouldn't have happened in the first place. Often the teacher is the one that happens to miss diagnose those kids and follow up with pediatricians that went to school just to get money. Usually the misdiagnoses tends to be male due to the fact that they can't hear as well as girls it's only a slight difference. Those teachers often female themselves seeing as the boys can't hear them and don't know that at the time. Would recommend the parents see a doctor for it. Which they back then had no right to do. These days teachers are required to take a basic psychology class that involve the differences in gender. ADD and ADHD are legitimate diagnoses. ADD and ADHD are often on debate on the cause but, it varies between doctors and physicians. Often they are given a rigorous test to see if they qualify. In the past a **** doctor would just look at the child give them a bottle to dope them up which would usually highly ineffective. The medications prescribed to children suffering form ADD or ADHD are on average riddlen. Riddle or more commonly know as Methylphenidate. This is literally a 100 shots of espresso in one pill well depending on the dose. The reason for this being is that kids with ADD and ADHD respond differently to caffeine to their non-ADD/ADHD counterparts. Caffeine on a child with ADD and ADHD will cause them to focus and calm down. On the other hand kids with out the disorder will flip their ****. When kids with out the disorder found out they could get high on them they would start trafficking the pills. Thus one of the reason why doctors are forced to pay attention to their **** and start tests. Learn so **** before you try to post about a documented medical disorder that has be studied heavyly upon.

All of what you just said is complete and utter ********. Stop ******* making excuses for those little *****. They need to learn some self control and sit still. Show me a little 5 year old boy who CAN sit still no problem for hours. It's hard to find. It's normal for a child to act like a ******* CHILD. When they get older if they still can't sit still then they obviously don't have any self control and I would blame the parents for not teaching them any. Then when they're even older and still can't focus it's entirely on them. I believe in self responsibility, taking responsibilities for your actions. Not making excuses every chance you get.

Often after given the examination to the child recognizing that she/he did not have the disorder the school would have the family so to an Expert or a doctor that would prescribe the medication without a care. After getting authorization from American Academy of Family Physicians He conducted a state wide survey. About who suggested the diagnoses of the disorder and all hands pointed to the teachers not the doctor nor parent or neighbor who would recognize said behavior. Doctors are trained to distinguish the boys with ADD from boys who just don't hear well as most girls. Thus the wave of misdiagnoses. In the American Journal of Human Genetics states that dopamine transporter gene is most likely responsible for the result of ADHD and ADD. Since ADD and ADHD is a disorder it's exact origin like you said can be the result of the upbringing just like Shared Psychotic disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, and Reactive Attachment Disorder. But it can also be the results of genetics. Even so if anyone with the disorders I said above (sans ADD and ADHD) stab you in the neck would it have been their fault because they couldn't "handle themselves" no. In some cases one can just have therapy or just deal with it on their own and be healthy such as mathematical genius John Nash. But, before he could realize he had schizophrenic he had almost drowned his child and assaulted a few strangers. A Mental disorder should not be put on the back burner because of your own ignorance and lack education.

And where's your proof from? Documented in the book Why Gender Matter by Leonard Sax, M.D, Ph.D which is required by teachers in college to read and study before hand.Based on a study by Janel Caine from Florida State University. She documented the effectiveness of music therapy on newborn if plausible would improve the baby's over all well being. The documentation of her thesis can be found at Flofida State University's Robert manning Strozier Library. The groups were broken down to two groups of 26 premature babies. One group was exposed to the music therapy one did not. The results concluded that the baby girls who received music therapy left 9 1/2 days earlier than the girls who did not receive the therapy. The boys who received the therapy however remained in the hospital in same amount of time ones who did not. This paved a way for Pediactric audiologists Barbara Cone-Wesson, Glendy Ramirez, and Yvonne Sininger research to verify the studies of Janel Caine. Cone-Wesson and her colleagues measured the acoustic brain response of 60 newborn girls and boys. The results showed that a tone played at 1,500 Hz tone played the average female baby had an acoustic brain response about 80% greater than the response of the average male baby. ( the range of sounds around 1,500Hz is important because that is the range of sound that is critical to understand speech.) Jane Cassidy a Lousiana State Universtiy State professor. when on to find that newborn girls hear differently than boys, especially at high frequencies. In another study conducted by Colin Elliot Demonstrated that 11 yr old girls are attracted to noise levels about ten times softer than the noise boys find distracting. How is this important? In the mid 1990's an uproar began and when young children between 2nd and 3rd grade began visiting doctor's offices to see if they have ADD.Almost all of them happened to be boys. Doctor Sax one of those physician present at the height of the incident.

As someone professionally diagnosed with ADD, I can tell you that it is not an issue of self control. ADD makes it harder to pay attention, and makes it hard to keep motivated. Kids with this also seem kind of depressed and quiet, as they do not socialize in the same way as other kids. ADHD is the one with hyperactivity.
I agree that excessive amounts of drugs are not the way to handle anything, But don't just tell either of these kinds of kids (or the people they grow up to be) to change who they are because they need some "******* self control". They know that they are different and will learn to deal with that by themselves.
Tl;DR, Their brains just work differently, so **** off. Chances are that they are probably smarter than you anyway.

These people are also smarter than you because they have the ability to realize that other people's brain's work differently.
