I started smoking 2 weeks before my 18th birthday, smoked for 5 years and then quit.

I can say that it gets immensely easier after the first month. After the third month you barely ever think about smoking and after the 6 month it pretty much just repulses you. The pang will never fully go away(that craving for a cigarette that is), but for me in year two 9/10 times it just grosses me out more than anything. You don't wake up with that choking heavy feeling in your chest. Your bowels get back in order(as long as you treat them right) and you don't feel nearly as edgey.

It's really worth it, I'm glad I quit and I'm a little ashamed I ever started.
