Passing Through

Another Particle based comic. This one deals with the ever elusive neutrinos, well known for passing through matter like a ghost.
Thousands of neutrinos are passing through you right now, but you don't notice them because they don't normally interact with matter.
On average, it would take a slab of lead one-light year in thickness to to stop 1/3 of all neutrinos passing through it.
ONE-LIGHT YEAR of solid lead can't even stop them!

Pretty neat stuff, I'm thinking about doing other kinds of science comics but ideas are very welcome and credit will be given should I choose one.

Also, my schooling is now done, so now after the 8th, I'll be able to work on this kinda stuff more often.

Anyways, I hope you guys like the comic, more are soon to come.

^_^

How exactly does one measure something with years?

A light year is the distance light travels in one year.

Light travels at a speed of nearly 300,000 kilometers per second (186,000ish miles per second).

That equals out to roughly 10 trillion km (6 trillion miles)

Most astronomical bodies in space are light years away from us, the nearest star that isn't the sun is 4.4 light-years away.

The only thing an electron neutrino leaves as proof is a path proving it was there.
Particle tracks in a cloud chamber or CERN.
