I recently watched that show for the first time. Accidentally stumbled upon it while flipping through channels. I'm not 100% sure what I saw, but I'm fairly certain at one point a short, fat purple woman and a tall black woman danced sensually and then the short one jumped into the other ones' vagina. They then formed a megazord with anger management issues. It was an odd experience.
I dunno man, it can be pretty ****** up.
Like that one episode that ended with some Dead Space/Human Centipede levels of ******* . Not the one in this jif, an episode much later.
1) I don't care how you pronounce it, but the name literally stems from Graphics Interchange Format. GIF. Gif. Unless there's a picture of peanut butter hidden in the image you posted, you have no reason to call it a "jif" aside from looking like an idiot
2) That's a webm
1) No, it stands for "Jraphics Interchanje Format", you stupid ******* gew.
2) It wasn't a webm when I posted it.
3) Even if it were a webm the whole time, it would not be called an image, and therefore I could not have hidden any peanut butter in it. Even if I could, that would be stupid. Nobody wants to read a comment that's full of peanut butter. It would get everywhere and their computers would jet all sticky and they wouldn't be able to clean it.
Instead of bashing other shows for not fitting a progressive world view, she made her own show that fits into it, what's the problem?
I personally find it entertaining, in spite that I can't stand your general SJW, but I'm fine with it, because the show is what it is, and doesn't try to be something else, neither does it bash on different shows. Instead it just expands on what it has, and is constantly developing it's characters.
And Ruby and Saphire, the official full blown lesbian couple has had appearence in 2 episodes, and only 1 of them they're actually fleshed out a bit.
Lesbian undertone? Yeah, they all look like women for some unknow reason. Whatso bad about it? I don't much care for it. Influencing your kids? Talk to them yo' fool, if you let TV do the parenting, they ARE going to get some weird ideas any way, so do your job and talk to them about what they see and what they think.
I agree whole heartedly, save for one thing. Ruby and Sapphire got a bit too intimate last time they were shown. Nothing wrong with romance or lesbians or whatever, but come on, it's still a kid's show.
The only issue I have with it is that it's being marketed as a kid's show. Kids are very impressionable, so she's essentially ensuring that any child who watches it will be more biased towards her opinions.
I love adult discourse and discussion of ideas and opinions, whether or not I share them. But I strongly stand against those who circumvent that by skipping over those who would have disagreed with them by marketing their ideas to children instead.
People can, and should, create art that is influenced by their worldview in most cases. But when you're making stuff for kids, I think it's time to switch off the political ideology. Or at least make it clear where you're coming from, so parents can make informed decisions, and kids get an idea of why certain unfamiliar themes may be in the show/story/whatever.
Well, honestly, every show is going to have some political overtones regardless of what you do. Unless you make some boring generic show, its going to have some kind of message.
Yes, SU does have a message that mindless SJW's are going to clap their hands like seals over, but I dont think they're being terribly in-your-face about it. I mean, yes, all the Gems are basically lesbians, but they're also all deeply flawed and stupid. They aren't lesbian mary sues or anything, they ******** all the time damn time, especially Pearl and Amethyst.
If they were flawless and perfect, I could understand your complaint, but as it stands, thats not the case and therefore I dont agree with you.

There are organizations specifically catered to children that push agendas that many people don't necessarily agree with. But you put up with it for the sake of having the kids be social and entertained and (hopefully) mentally balanced. It ends up being a positive experience overall.
These types of things do mould our children but they are not permanently fixed into a single mindset as long as they are encouraged to keep looking, to keep finding new things to experience.
I'm not a religious man but I do see some value in teaching the beliefs of a majority of the world's population. If you don't, you end up with narrow minded little ***** that can't comprehend anything outside of what they think the world should be according to their limited experiences.
Agreed, but those organizations are very plain about the ideals they hold. There's a difference between setting up an organization with the express idea of teaching certain values and including controversial ideals in something branded as harmless children's entertainment.
My parents were always good about showing me both sides of an argument, something I'm grateful for. But they were always clear and upfront about it, so I could compare these things on my own. I think that's a lot healthier than including ideas as undertones in cartoons so kids absorb them subconsciously.
That's not the point. it's a fine show and I still like it, I'm just sick of her veering more and more away from what the show was originally about, to talk about how much Pearl wants to **** Rose.
If you have diverse, or lesbian, or whatever the **** characters you want , that's fine, but if you add a story and make the story an emphasis, then you should FOCUS ON THAT STORY
Basically, SU is a lot like Columbo and Batman, both great things that suffer when they veer off track.
I dunno. I'm fine with the pacing. We have a general idea of where he comes from, all we lack is the minute details.
And yeah, it's pretty clear how much of a hard on Pearl had going, but I like how they fleshed out how she feel in love with chivralry because it reflected on how she felt. Apparently, the theory fans seem to be holding out on that "she's really some kind of service sub-race" going, which would also explain how hard they invested in exploring her.
But all in all, since we kinda know where Steve comes from, the biggest question is more about the origin of the gay space rocks, why they came to earth, why Rose rebelled, why some gems joined her, how's their homeplanet, why they expand their planet if they have so little needs (no need to breath, feed... other resources? for what then?). And to figure those, we need to delve into the gems history themselves. And as more of those question are answered, perphaps we could get some more details about how/why Rose went poff, and how exactly Steven came out though I fear most of this could very well be TMI or something...
But that's just it, Crewniverse has the Adeventure Time problem of making a huge deal of something, then ******* off to talk about something else.
I wouldn't have so much of a problem with this show, if it weren't for the fact that Sugar keeps placing SOOOOOOO much emphasis on the story and going "oh, it could be answered in the very next episode" and then some **** happens that no one cares about.
"What's the homeworld like?" "Where did Lion come from?" "What of Malachite?" "Why was Lapis in the mirror?"
They get close to answering these questions and then it's like "lol nope, let's watch Pearl have a mental breakdown for the 5,000th time"
Again, it's a nice show and I like watching it but not without my frustrations. It's got that stupid webcomic writing style where you can talk for 5 hours and not say anything.
I DON'T GET WHAT ALL OF THIS LESBIAN ******** IS ABOUT!!

Answer me, what's this world come to with all this lesbian **** ? I may be anti-gay trolololno but all of this throwing judgement rocks at characters in fictional cartoon shows is just childish. It's like going out in public and yelling "Deez nuts."
Subplots are fine, if they expand the world around him or explore the characters more but every subplot that doesn't have to do with them finding something related to Rose has them either being dysfunctional or crying because Rose Quartz got a fixed rate mortgage or whatever.
A bit of writing advice that'd do this show well: "Is this the most interesting thing that's happening to this character? And if not, why AREN'T you showing us that?"
Every sub plot about Pearl is just her being dumb but in different ways.
Which'd be fine but it's EVERY single sub plot about Pearl. She's either ******* something up, or about to **** something up, or whining about how she'll inevitably **** something up, etc.
I liked Pearl back when she was a neurotic, likeable, genuinely funny and flawed character. Back when she was sort of an overbearing mom.
Now every plot is Pearl either talking about how bad she ****** up (see above) or how much she wants to bang Steven's dead mom.
What really annoys me is that I know Rebecca can do better than the garbage we've been getting for the past latter half of this season, she just isn't giving it her best. It was nice to see Garnet drop some truth on her though, so maybe we'll go back to that funny, flawed, well meaning Pearl rather than, I-haven't-cum-for-10,000-years Pearl
Stole the words out of my mouth, you magnificent mother ****** . Sure sometimes it's funny to call it gay space rocks the show, but that's in jest. That and they are a bunch of f*cking rocks. They don't really have a sex.
As the show has gone on, he HAS been discovering more about his origin, the gems, and has been using his powers better, the most recent episode being hard proof of that.
pearl has gotten thirstier and thirstier as the show has gone on, and she's getting on my goddamn nerves, steven is actually improving as a character but pear is annoying af.
But their lesbianism hasn't gotten in the way of the story
Character development is important, and godforbid the viewers get a break from the string of dramatic action and heavy ****
Which isn't evne that big of a break for SU
Even the filler episodes tug at the heartstrings
Something that annoys me is that it started off with Steven learning how to be a gem and go on missions and now it feels like they gave up on that, Connie got taught how to use a sword before Steven did. Also, now it seems like Steven acts like a kid who's parents are getting divorced, running around trying to be the glue that holds the family together and it just seems like the gems wouldn't have anything to do with each other if it wasn't for him.
Yea, their gay, but they actually have character outside their sexuality, Steven Universe is awesome because it knows how to hit certain subject matter without going over the top, and being preachy about it
See, this is why ya cant make the main characters mostly girls, cause if ya do its all emotions and in-fighting and gay **** , if the gems were all guys we'd already be back on gem homeworld fighting the BBG.
The coming-of-age **** is just a farce. SU is actually about a young alien/human hybrid's traumatic childhood, and the constant **** he goes through. Such as witnessing the repeated death of his friends, their consistent emotional and mental breakdowns, the deterioration of their already strained relationships, and each of their individual insecurities. But instead of getting wrapped up in the web of dumb **** these bitchey dykes weave, he's keeps his **** collected for the most part and makes sure the ball doesn't stop rolling. He's fixed basically every problem those cheesy cunts have caused, including, but certainly not limited to, Pearl's obvious self-esteem issues, Amethyst's retarded need for approval, and Garnet's internal struggle over the fusion debacle. With his steadily improving combat skill, Steven will soon rule over this pitiful ******* planet, and bring in an age of absolute happiness and joy.
