2 questions, where did you get such a high res nipple, and myopicprophet, did you stop with the nipples just to see what kind of nipple edits people would do?
everybody knows about that one, here is a new one to impress people with. shamelessly copied from wikipedia.
A. brasiliensis males use pheromones to attract females, in contrast to most other burrowing wolf spiders, where the females attract the males. Males have been observed to specifically cannibalize on older females that were lured into the male's burrow, while preferring mating with virgins. The first egg sac of A. brasiliensis females contains more eggs than later ones, which, together with the harsh habitat, gives this behavior an evolutionary advantage.
meant to add a note saying I am not sure if males attracting females is common in other animals or if this breed of spider is one of the few that doesn't have the females doing the attracting.
At least I know I can count on "vorarephilia" to be FJ's leading expert on being eaten during, after, or as a part of sex. Glad you're living up to your name.
In most other species of animals such as birds, deer, etc, the male is larger and more resplendant than the female for the (mostly) sole purpose of attracting females. So to answer your question, yes it is common. However, in spiders the female is nearly ALWAYS far larger than the male.
This is retarded. That praying mantis thing is a myth. The study that showed that females eat the heads of males after mating was flawed and inaccurate. They took random mantises and put in a foreign closed off environment devoid of food and had them mate. The woman bit the head off the male, in the wild they don't do that, its not part of their mating at all. It's perfectly safe to have sex with praying mantises, as long as you wear a condom, mantises are the whores of the bug world.
Eating the male only occurs in captivity when the female is starving and would eat anything, it has nothing to do with mating at all. That's just as likely as any other bug eating another bug if its starving. People like to use this myth as an excuse to mistreat lady mantises and not give them the sweet loving the deserve. Stop the lies! **** a mantis today!
