It shows a rise over a certain period (in three increments) while the events of the comic should suggest an instantaneous increase.
The only way to justify that graph is by saying that the gossip of events first has to spread to increase popularity but since the bully plots the graph instantly after getting punched, he couldn't tell how far and fast it spread. unless he was unconcious for a prolonged time but that probably creates further inconsistencies

Maybe his hand is just shaking from being punched in the face. This could just be a field journal for quick scribbling of notes that will be transferred to a final graph later.
