Idk, the only time when it is hard for me to draw hands is when I draw them from memory, but if I take my hand and shape it like I want, and draw it, it's pretty easy.
But then again it's your hand, ya know?
When you go on to draw different people, you could still do that but you'd have to add or subtract some details to make it their hand. And I think that's what has been stumpin' artists.
I dunno. You have a method that works for you, which is great, I'm just going off experiences I've had and heard from other artists.
I never use steps when I draw things
I never have and probably never will
I know it can improve the way it looks ten fold but I dont want to put that much effort to make it look a little bit better when I can just keep practicing the way I draw until I get it to look good
It isn't exactly a ******* masterpiece but I dont think my hands look all that bad.
They're pretty basic
When I draw I stsrt at the thumb and end at the pinky for open hand
For closed fist (back side) I start with the pinky fingers knuckle bump and move along, then fill it out
When I draw front side I start by drawing the thumb and then the fingers behind it (while usually looking at my own clenched fist for reference
For holding (such as a gun)
I draw the fingers (and hand if needed) first, and then the object around it.
