I just played CS:GO for the first time the other day, and that is exactly how I feel.

People shoot you before they themselves even register you are there. They remember maps and just auto shoot everytime they walk around the corner...perfectly at the head...it's insane!

I'll stick to neopets.

If you played comp then you most likely encountered a smurf, otherwise just good players. I started out at the bottom and ended up LEM ( 2 ranks before the top ) and Silver to MGE (the double ak rank) isn't much skill difference but when you hit DMG (badge rank) it's a WHOLE new ball game. Best way I could give a comparison is Basic training in the military, they weed out the weak and keep the best well if you make it to and/or out of DMG then you're part of the cool guys and are going to have plenty of fun. I myself got to the point where I prefire and hit some shots that I have to stop playing for like a minute and wonder wtf did I just do. But at LEM I just hit a wall and can't improve because my **** wont reg or I their reaction time is way too great.

I joined a bunch of these "noobie" friendly servers, only to be fighting people that play the game too much or take it far too seriously.

It's a game with a pretty sharp learning curve when you're new. Even if you're used to FPS you have to drop a lot of habits you've learned from other ones before you can be good at it.

"taking it too seriously" varies by definition. There are people who have a few thousand hours in it and consider it a casual hobby and others who have 500-800 and rage at every little thing that goes wrong.

Well, if you're playing on a "noobie" server to prey on newcomers because you can't compete at a higher level, I'd consider that taking it too seriously. Because you don't enjoy playing with people at your level.

Sorry, do you mean noob servers as in the valve ones or community ones?

The people on community servers tend to have a lot more experience, as a general rule.

Not quite sure, I didn't play it much.

I'd try CS:GO if I had it. But this is a real issue I see a lot.

That and the fact there are glaring issues with recoil/spray in the game.
User avatar #173 to #95 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
only issue is the reliance of RNG on the recoil. Makes spraying very far away basically luck based rather than skill.
User avatar #194 to #173 - klaes (12/19/2015) [-]
Oh nevermind read a bit down seems you agree with me
User avatar #193 to #173 - klaes (12/19/2015) [-]
The RNG at a range makes bursting/tapping better past a certain point. This isn't really a bad thing, though.

What is a little ****** is first-shot inaccuracy.
User avatar #196 to #193 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
first shot accuracy is actually the best in GO apparently except that bursting is so much more innacurate compared to 1.6 because 1.6 had like no RNG for the first 3 shots but GO just immediately ***** you with the randomness after the first shot. There was a chart on reddit explaining all this **** a few days ago but I'm too lazy to find it
#197 to #196 - klaes (12/19/2015) [-]
There was a glitch in 1.6 that gave you near perfect first shot, I'm referring to that as well.

I saved the chart on reddit.

I agree with you. Bursting is too weak and spraying is far too strong in GO. I'm not one of those people that pretend 1.6 was the perfect game, but I do wish they'd go back to the older mechanics as far as burst/spray goes.
User avatar #198 to #197 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
it's sad that the devs have no idea what they are doing and want to make GO completely different from 1.6 even though nobody would complain if GO was 1.6 with better graphics.
User avatar #174 to #173 - sptnfouroneseven (12/19/2015) [-]
Well yeah, I expect any game with firearms to have reduced accuracy past X feet. However, if it's anything like CS:S, the Silenced M4 will not hit target while aimed center of mass from 15+ feet away. Which is ******** .
User avatar #175 to #174 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
it's more of you have a terrible chance of getting a headshot from pit to A site D2 with AK
User avatar #177 to #175 - sptnfouroneseven (12/19/2015) [-]
Well, it would depend on quite a few factors. Where your target is, are your just holding the trigger down, or are you bursting, semi-autoing it. So on so forth.

However, 15ft away. A silenced M4 will not miss it's target when aimed at center of mass. Even if it's full auto.
User avatar #179 to #177 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
I was talking about tapping but this will explain it better How precise are the guns in CS:GO? An empirical analysis.
User avatar #182 to #179 - sptnfouroneseven (12/19/2015) [-]
But not for real. The recoil/spray on these weapons is ass.
User avatar #183 to #182 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
i'd have to agree but only on the randomness of the guns ability to burst accurately like in 1.6 rather than spraying being king in GO
User avatar #184 to #183 - sptnfouroneseven (12/19/2015) [-]
The worst part is everyone says that CoD is worse... I'd much rather play CoD over CS:GO because the accuracy is better on the weapons. And it rewards it so much more than CS. CS a headshot isn't a kill 100% of the time because of helmets or you're using an AWP or Scout. Which is even more ******** .
User avatar #185 to #184 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
Now you're comparing apples to oranges plus too many guns in GO are a OHK like a $300 pistol and a $500 run n gun ghetto blaster
User avatar #186 to #185 - sptnfouroneseven (12/19/2015) [-]
They nerfed the R8 though. It's no longer 1-shot. I expect a deagle to kill you in one hit to the head anyway.

But no, everyone else says CS:GO is better than CoD and I just don't see it. Also "CS:GO doesn't have quickscopers" ******** .
User avatar #187 to #186 - MatthewsGauss (12/19/2015) [-]
I was refering to the p250 and the tec9 and a deagle will OHK if you're not balls far away.
Also you dont have to like CS if you like COD then like it. CS does have quickscopes tho but in GO they nerfed it to be fully accurate in about a half second.
