time to un feel everyone

self destruct just generates an explotion and nocks the pokemon out, not an actual suicide bomb thing.

Self destruct makes them faint.

Fainting isn't dying. Unless you're into Nuzlockes, in which case godspeed.

I always thought of it as being the move Vegeta used to try and stop Majin Buu. You tell your Pokemon to do it, but they do it because they trust and believe in you, as any trade Pokemon you don't have the badges for can prove, they aren't forced to listen to you. Plus, I always figured that since they just get K.O.ed and you can take them to a Pokemon center "self-destruct" was more like, use an energy burst so powerful it knocks you out when you fire it.

Fair but, to use my second DBZ to Pokemon analogy in a minute, it was like how Krillin would always train and join the fight. You don't open with self destruct. It's a last ditch move in hopes of either taking the enemy with you, or softening them up enough your team can back your play. Krillin fights knowing he's not on Goku, Gohan, or even Vegeta's level. He fights because he'd rather have every bone in his body broken fighting, than risk his friends losing by that one once of fight he could have contributed.

I needed to have this whole argument and completed and solid in my head as a 9 year old or I would have never been able to use that move either. (Pic related: How I felt about my brave Electrodes sacrifice, and faith in our team the first time I did use it anyway)
