I am trying to decide what happened between three things:

1) This guy is twisted and decided to save the world by killing everyone
2) There was some disease already out (possibly let out by the meteor) that he could have cured, but instead everyone died while he was on the computer
3) He didn't actually know everything, and in his attempt to cure a disease he created a disease that wiped out all of humanity.
