No, but as the old saying goes "it's the thought that counts". I mean, granted it's selfish for the women in this comic to be ASKING him to buy things, that's not cool. But also I would think that if you cared about your partner you would WANT to buy them things, not as an obligation but because you love them, it's just one form of affection.

I would agree. The girl in the comic is me, I never asked him to buy me anything in reality. I put it there for setup purposes. It's a comic, not to be taken seriously.
