well ive always though that warning shots were procedure before shooting anyone, but maybe the laws are different from where I live.

Warning shots are not "procedure" anywhere with an established organized police force. When you shoot a firearm, the bullet goes somewhere.

i dont think warning shots are procedure anywhere, i mean i dont live everywhere, but a bullet has to go somewhere and you are endangering more people also a warning shot could cause a suspect to panic. Officers do not discharge their weapons unless they absolutely have to you can just be firing bullets to warn people. the only arguement to be made here is why did no one have a taser our and why was on not shot first.

If they have a knife at a range of less than 25 feet you open fire, because a thrown knife can easily kill at that range.
